Overall Meaning

The song "Trigger" by Ozaki Yuuki starts off with the singer feeling like they were thrown out of the world and left on a thin needle. They were struggling to find balance but then they touch fingertips with someone and realize they are not alone. They were given one thing with the distorted wings they were born with and that was to decide what they want to do before they die. The listener is then introduced to someone who seems angelic and who laughs in the face of adversity even when the world is distorted. Together, they make it through the summer heat and through the gaps in the burning buildings falling apart. They will finally become dust by pulling the trigger at the end of their journey, and winter will come, and snow will cover everything.

The second half of the song talks about how life may not give them anything, but they will not stop searching for the ultimate end to their journey. The end destination is the same for everyone, even though they may not be rewarded for their efforts. The singer can't continue living like this, and they ask themselves what they can do before they die. They don't have an answer, so they smile at the other person. They want to shine like a butterfly on fire for just a moment and take everything away from this world. They want to live with this other person until they die, passing through history and gaps in the spiral that leads to hell. They will pull the trigger, and they will become dust, and winter will come and cover everything before telling the entire story.
