Life is just like this song. At first, it just looks interesting and catchy. Then, as time goes by, you start to decipher the meaning of it all. And you feel speechless and lost. But what can you do? This brings me back to Nashville in 1985 right around the time I went out for a ride and I never went back. Divorce. I left after 7 years. I was just learning to live. 26 years old and working with the best friends I've ever had, also my bosses. Had a fungi connect in California and the whole next year was a celebration of me being re born. That was 40 fkn years ago.... I never knew who the talking heads were when I was a kid. I loved little monsters and I fell in love with this song. Here I am so many years later. I am so thankful they were associated with that movie. I can't explain how visceral it is when they come on the radio.

David Byrne's quavering voice at low-pitch and high-pitch ctually highlight the chilling undertones to this song - albeit in a clever, subtle way. What's chilling about the song - in my opinion - is that one can spend a really, really long time going around in circles when trying to achieve their goals and, as a result, pave a "road to nowhere" in their life, being blissfully unaware at the time but having big regrets much later in life and wishing they could "turn back the clock" and start over again. What's even more chilling is the question of whether they would manage to not go around in circles again if they could turn back the clock and start over (e.g. being so obsessed about not repeating the same mistakes again that they actually quite unwittingly make themselves go around in circles all over again!), which could create a recursive cycle of going around in circles (a circle within a circle within another circle etc.)! 😜

Give a break. They are a BRILLIANT band. David Byrne is a literally genius who has gifted the world with his own quirky and unusual sense of humor, intelligence, wit, political awareness, concern about the World In General. They are really amazing and David himself is my favorite of course...but I never have had an opportunity to see The Heads or even David Byrne's solo concert live. I would love to see either, but just being with the kind of crowd that would come...in legion...to see The Talking Heads play just one reunion world tour for all the fans, would be a life-altering experience. SO many great bands I love and have never seen live: The Cure, Depeche Mode (MAYBE saw them one time, I have a faint memory), New Order, The Smiths, REM, The B-52's, Sting & Or The Police, The Rolling Stones, (can't afford the damn $500 tickets!), Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Doors, Jimi, Janis, Nirvana, only got to see U2 ONCE in concert and the audio was fucked up so Bono sounded like he was sucking helium all night. The Talking Heads...like The Violent Femmes, Sublime, (saw Garbage play with No Doubt once...GREAT show!

There would be a million YOUNG people. That's how great this band is. Even teenagers would be there. This music is timeless.

I remember when I was a kid watching a movie called Little Monsters and this song came on at the end. It is pretty nostalgic, and it isn't a bad song. But at the same time, that movie used to freak me out and this song reminds me of that feeling.
