Crazy
P!nk Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I remember when, I remember
I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place
Even your emotions have an echo in so much space

And when you're out there without care
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?

And I hope you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice

Oh, ho, come on now, who do you?
Who do you, who do you, who do you think you are?
Ha, ha, ha, bless your soul
You really think you're in control? Yeah, yeah

Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy just like me

My heroes had the heart
To lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember
Is thinking, I wanna be like them

Ever since I was little
Ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done, yeah, yeah

Maybe I'm crazy, maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy, probably

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to P!nk’s song, “Crazy,” describe a moment when the singer remembers feeling out of touch with reality. She remembers the time when she lost her mind and found a strange sense of pleasure in that space. The echoes of emotions are so powerful that even in that environment, she feels she can sense her feelings bouncing off the walls. She acknowledges that she was out of touch with the world around her, but not because she was uninformed, rather, because she knew too much.

The lyrics also seem to be an observation of someone else who may also be out of touch with the world. P!nk sings, “And I hope you are having the time of your life but think twice, that's my only advice.” Then she questions the sanity and the sense of control of this person when she sings, “Who do you, who do you, who do you think you are?...You really think you're in control?”

The song itself has a sense of shared insanity. P!nk sings, “Well, I think you're crazy. I think you're crazy. I think you're crazy just like me.” She reveals that her heroes were the ones with the heart to go out on a limb and lose their lives, and all she could ever think was, “I wanna be like them.” The song celebrates the idea that maybe everyone is a little crazy, and that shared madness is what makes us feel alive.
