Opening
P!nk Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
As an instrumental track, "Opening" does not contain any lyrics for interpretation. However, this does not mean that the song lacks significance or emotional substance. Without the aid of words, P!nk is able to communicate her message through the complex arrangements of the instrumentation. The track is a powerful opener to her album and serves as an introduction to the themes she will explore throughout the rest of the project. The sprawling piano melody is both epic and haunting, evoking feelings of contemplation, anticipation, and even anxiety. The build-up and eventual release of the song's tension is a testament to P!nk's talent as a composer and her ability to communicate with her audience without words.
In terms of the album as an entirety, "Opening" is a statement of intent from P!nk. The song sets the tone for the rest of the record, which is a journey through the artist's experiences and emotions. It is a fitting introduction to the album that showcases P!nk's skill as a composer and performer. Opening's piano-driven melody is haunting and thought-provoking, adding depth to the album overall.
