This my rap song
1-2-3-4
I get really sick and tired of boys up in my face
Pick up lines like "What's your sign" won't get
You anyplace
It seems we can't go anywhere without a car that
Goes "Beep-beep"
Cuz this body is a priceless piece of lovin'
Unconditionally
So, Mr. Big-stuff, who you think you are?
You was thinkin' you's gonna get it for free
Now, now, now,
Hey ladies
(Yeah!)
Let 'em know it ain't easy
R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Let's come togeta'
Sista's
(Yeah!)
Its time to be greedy
Nothin' good comes for free
Mirror on the wall, damn I sure look fine
I can't blame those horny boys, I would make me
Mine
When I pass you in a club, "Ooh, lala!" you gasp
Back up boy, I ain't your toy, or your piece of ass
Cause this body is a priceless piece of lovin' unconditionally
So, Mr. Big-stuff, who you think you are?
You was thinkin' you's gonna get it for free
Now, now, now
Hey ladies
(Yeah!)
Let 'em know it ain't easy
R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Let's come togeta'
Sista's
(Yeah!)
Its time to be greedy
Nothin' good comes for free
Hey ladies
(Yeah!)
Let 'em know it ain't easy
R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Let's come togeta'
Sista's
(Yeah!)
Its time to be greedy
Nothin' good comes for free
No jealousy, no envy girls, c'mon, let's work it out
No freebies in the limousine, that's not what its about
Let 'em know there's work to do, give it up he won't call you
Respect is just a minimum, go on girl and get you some

The song "Respect" by P!nk / Scratch is all about empowering women to demand respect and not settle for less in any situation. The verses of the song describe the frustration that women often feel when they are objectified or hit on by guys who only see them as a piece of flesh. The chorus urges women to stick together and demand respect from these men, and warns them not to give anything away for free. The bridge emphasizes the importance of respecting oneself and not getting caught up in jealousy or envy.
One of the notable aspects of the song is the catchy hook of "1-2-3-4, this my rap song" which serves as a rallying cry for women to reclaim their power. The song also incorporates elements of funk and soul, with a groovy bassline and horns that give it a retro vibe. The lyrics themselves are clever and empowering, with lines like "mirror on the wall, damn I sure look fine" and "no freebies in the limousine, that's not what it's about" asserting the value of women beyond their physical appearance.
Another interesting fact about the song is that it was produced by the artist Scratch, who is best known as a turntablist and member of The Roots. P!nk's vocals were recorded separately and then blended with Scratch's beats and instrumentation to create the final version of the song. The song was also used in the soundtrack for the movie Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, and was released as a single in Australia.
Overall, "Respect" is a fun and funky anthem for women who are tired of being objectified and undervalued. It encourages women to stick together and demand the respect they deserve, and reminds them that nothing good comes for free.
