But now, here we are, so whataya want from me
Just don't give up, I'm workin it out

He messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, whataya want from me (Whataya want from me)
Whataya want from me (Whataya want from me)
Whataya want from me
The lyrics to P!nk's song "Whataya Want from Me" seem to be a plea from the singer to someone in her life who she is afraid is trying to take too much from her. She is asking for patience, understanding and for them to keep coming around. P!nk is acknowledging that she may have been someone who previously gave too much of herself away and didn't care, but now wants to be understood for who she is. She is afraid of being hurt again, but she's asking the other person not to give up on her, promising that she won't let them down.
The repetition of "whataya want from me" in the chorus speaks to the idea that P!nk feels like the other person is demanding too much from her without fully understanding her. The line "I'm a freak, but thanks for lovin' me" showcases P!nk's vulnerability and fear of being rejected. She's admitting that she may not fit the mold of what others expect her to be, but she's asking for acceptance anyway.
Overall, the song seems to be about P!nk trying to protect herself and navigate a relationship where she wants to be understood and loved for who she is without sacrificing too much of herself.
