You Make Me Sick
P!nk Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I know I feel you, that'
[Chorus]
You make me sick
I want you and I'm hating it
Got me lit like a candlestick
Get too hot when you touch the tip, I'm feeling it, I gotta getta grip
Can't get enough of it
You got me going again
Baby, you got me going again
You make me sick
He was doing 8-0 on the freeway
In the 6 double O, bumping Isley
He was getting kinda close, kinda touch-ay
Cause he had a little too much Hennessey
He told me that he wanna go home, with me up on the hill to my condo
Told me he would keep it all on the low-low
But I told him, "boo, I don't really know though"
He got closer to me, it started getting deep
He had me in a zone when he started to show me things
I never saw before
Baby was smooth but I knew it was game
Hell-of-a cool but you men are the same
The way he licked his lips and touched my hips
I knew that he was slick
[Chorus]
In the 6 now, so hot
Gotta pull all the windows down
Eyes lead and I'm thinking bout the sheets now
Wondering should I really take it there now
He told me he would make it worth it
Again, how many times have I heard this
Kinda funny, but I wasn't even nervous
Well his slick-ass lines were kinda working
I felt my knees get weak, his body was calling me
Just couldn't take the heat
Anyway it was 2 or 3, I had to get off the streets
Baby was cool but I knew it was game
Said, he was too schooled to be screaming my name
Even though we made the best of it
I still told him this
[Chorus: x3]
Can't, no no no
Oh, you make me sick
I want you and I'm hating it, hating it, hating it
The song 'You Make Me Sick' by P!nk is about a man who is playing games with her emotions. She is infatuated with him, but at the same time hates it because she knows that he's not genuine. She feels like he's just using her and has a slick way about him that makes him appear charming and irresistible, but she knows deep down that he's not good for her.
In the first verse, she describes how he was driving recklessly while listening to music by Isley Brothers. He was also flirting with her in a way that made her feel uncomfortable, but she couldn't help but be drawn to him. She knows that he's just playing games with her, but she enjoys the attention and the excitement.
In the second verse, she describes how they end up in the car and how he tells her that he'll make it worth it. She's heard these lines before though, so she's not sure if she can trust him. She knows that she's weak for him though and can't resist his charm. In the end, she tells him that he makes her sick, but she still wants him anyway.
The chorus is the most memorable part of the song with P!nk repeating the phrase "you make me sick" over and over. She's caught in a love-hate relationship with this man and is struggling to get a grip on her emotions. She knows that he's bad for her, but she can't resist the temptation.

What style? Less rock style?
@dragonflyy000
@Ms. Wilson Yeah like when she started out she was pretty much RnB. Today, idk what you'd call her bc all her songs range from pop rock, (NOT bubblegum pop) yet she still has a lil edgy RnB in some songs infused with some definite rock. Then she also has some beautiful ballads. "I Don't Believe You" is my all-time favorite ballad of hers. 1st time I heard it, it actually brought tears to my eyes. Its just a beautiful song and video. Like I said in a previous comment- she's just CLASSIC. Whatever she sings is amazing! Hell she could sing the dictionary and people would buy it! Most unique voice since Janis Joplin & Stevie Nicks. She's just one of a kind for sure! Then to sing that well flying thru the air!! Freaking unbelievable!
