The lyrics to P. Reckless's song "Kill Me" speak to the resilience of black individuals in the face of systemic racism and violence. The repetition of "You can't kill me, I'm a child of the King" emphasizes the idea that despite experiencing discrimination and oppression, they are still valuable and beloved by a higher power. The verses also touch on specific instances of police brutality, with the line "Black is my skin, hands up! Don't shoot" echoing the sentiment of the Black Lives Matter movement. The lyrics also reference P. Reckless's personal experiences, such as his father's incarceration and the shame and suicidal thoughts he experienced from his aunt's hurtful words.
Throughout the song, P. Reckless's faith plays a central role in his perspective and resilience. He references the name "Elohim," a Hebrew word for God, and acknowledges that his hair and cultural background are part of his identity. He also describes his journey from living paycheck to paycheck to being able to buy a home for his family through hard work and dedication. The lyrics contrast the negativity and hatred he has faced with his own love and compassion towards others, even those who may hate him.
Overall, "Kill Me" is a powerful expression of the experiences and emotions of black individuals in America, as well as a testament to the strength and grace that can be found through faith.

She's got one hell of a voice. When you pair that with being a really good songwriter with a distinctive sound - TPR deserves way more recognition than they get. Shame most people can't look past her personal style.
@izzers17
I just discovered this band a few days ago, and I gotta say, this is the voice I've been looking for my entire life. The songs are amazing as well. Problem is I can't get enough! Seriously, I need more TPR. Okay, just in case the band happens to read this, I'm from Manila, and I just found out you guys came over last year and I kinda really hate myself right now for not discovering your music sooner, cause I would've emptied my wallet to be at that show. Please come back.
