In early 2003, PAS/CAL's debut EP The Handbag Memoirs met critical success with attention to finely tuned detail, clever lyrical references and an upbeat yet melancholic pop polish. Track number one, The Bronze Beached Boys (Come On Let's Go), eventually found its way to television through a Saturn commercial.
Over the next three years two EPs (Oh Honey We're Ridiculous & Dear Sir) and two split 12" records (Seasons Greetings split with Asobi Seksu & Summer split with La Laque) are issued. The band doubles in size & equally ups its musical ante at its newly-constructed headquarters, the Romantic Air Recording Workshoppe. From this deeply-receded fortress the band piece together their songs, each replete with complex movements, melodies that haunt the heart and arrangements that would turn George Martin's head. 'What Happened To The Sands' rocks & bounces along with great aggression & equal tenderness; 'Poor Maude' details the titular character's dying wish for, well, death; 'What Do The American Girls Have On Jennifer Jo Jo?' warns our young heroine of the terrible facts of living in a cold, uncaring world; 'Summer Is Almost Here' goes from seemingly fey summerpop to a foreboding warning-bell referencing Arthur Miller's "Air Conditioned Nightmare".
Since its inception PAS/CAL has sought to spread the word according to its peculiar pop gospel. Three EPs on Le Grand Magistery, two 12" split singles on their own Romantic Air label and a handful of appearances on compilations have showcased to the world the band's mixture of sinister and sweet, perversity and prudence - all dressed up in deceptively catchy and meticulously arranged tunes with hooks that would make Johnny Marr jealous and turn Serge Gainsbourg's head. Accompany this with a penchant for colorful outfits and unique stage performances known to include actors, props and special effects and you are getting close to the complete PAS/CAL picture.
PAS/CAL took all of 2007 off---and a bit of 2006---to write and record their long awaited and overdue debut LP provocatively entitled, I Was Raised On Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Laura. They are ecstatic with the outcome ("It's epic!" -Richard Panic) and happily look forward to seeing it released in early 2008 via the Le Grand Magistery imprint.
On their forthcoming release, PAS/CAL is lead by singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Casimer Pascal with help from Richard Panic on all keyboard oriented instruments, Nathan Burgundy on bass, the incredibly powerful LTD on drums, and guitarists Gene Corduroy and Trevor Naud.

The minute that you said good-bye
I thumbed right through my little red book
I wasn't gonna sit and cry
And I went from A to Z
I took out every pretty girl in town
They danced with me
And while I held them
Hear your name and I'd start to cry
There is just no getting over you
No girl who's in my little red book
Just ever could replace your love
And each girl in my little red book
Knows you're the one I'm thinking of
Won't you please come back to me?
Without your precious love I can't go on
Where can you be?
I need you so much
All I do is to talk about you
Hear your name and I start to cry
There is just no getting over you, no, no, no
Won't you please come back to me?
Without your precious love I can't go on
Where can you be?
I need you so much
All I do is to talk about you
Hear your name and I start to cry
There is just no getting over you, no, no
All I do is to talk, talk about you
Hear your name and I start to cry
Well, there is just no getting over you, no, no
All I do is to talk, talk, talk
Hear your name and I start to cry
There is just no getting over you
The lyrics of PAS/CAL's song "Little Red Radio" depict a combination of longing, reminiscence, and heartbreak. The singer, who has recently gone through a breakup or separation from a significant other, turns to his "little red book" as a distraction and source of comfort. The book represents a list of potential romantic interests, and the singer goes through it from A to Z, dating various women in town. However, despite these attempts, he realizes that none of these girls can replace the love he lost with his ex-girlfriend.
The repetition of the line "All I do is to talk about you, hear your name and I start to cry" emphasizes the lingering presence of the ex-lover in the singer's thoughts and emotions. He is unable to move on and continues to yearn for her return. The chorus pleads for his ex-girlfriend to come back, acknowledging that without her love, he cannot continue on the same path. The singer acknowledges that there is simply no getting over her, expressing his profound sense of loss and longing.
Overall, the lyrics convey the deep emotional impact that a breakup can have on an individual, highlighting the difficulty of moving on and finding solace in other relationships.

I just got out my little red book
I recently opened my personal diary
The minute that you said good-bye
Immediately after you bid farewell
I thumbed right through my little red book
I quickly flipped through my diary
I wasn't gonna sit and cry
I refused to wallow in sadness
And I went from A to Z
I interacted with various people
I took out every pretty girl in town
I sought companionship with many attractive women around
They danced with me
We enjoyed dancing together
And while I held them
When I embraced them
All I did was to talk about you
I could only discuss you
Hear your name and I'd start to cry
Upon hearing your name, tears would well up
There is just no getting over you
I cannot move on from you
No girl who's in my little red book
None of the girls mentioned in my diary
Just ever could replace your love
Could ever take the place of your affection
And each girl in my little red book
Every girl mentioned in my diary
Knows you're the one I'm thinking of
Acknowledges that you are occupying my thoughts
Won't you please come back to me?
I implore you to return to me
Without your precious love I can't go on
I cannot continue living without your invaluable love
Where can you be?
I wonder where you are
I need you so much
I have an immense need for you
All I do is to talk about you
You are the sole subject of my conversations
Hear your name and I start to cry
Tears begin to flow upon hearing your name
There is just no getting over you, no, no, no
I cannot overcome my feelings for you, absolutely not
All I do is to talk, talk about you
My discussions solely revolve around you
Hear your name and I start to cry
Tears well up when your name is mentioned
Well, there is just no getting over you, no, no
Absolutely cannot move on from you, no way
All I do is to talk, talk, talk
My conversations are incessant
Hear your name and I start to cry
Upon hearing your name, tears begin to flow
There is just no getting over you
I cannot overcome my feelings for you
