Oh yeah
but we'll never be satisfied
Oh yeah just rolling till die
Oh yeah we're almost paranoia
We can pass anywhere you drive
We can pass anywhere you drive
We can pass anywhere you drive
into the ray,yeah!
Life on the highway
Is it straight to
hell or heaven?
We'll never mind
Life on the highway
Is it straight to
hell or heaven?
It makes no difference to us
Oh yeah
there's no need to be wise
Oh yeah there's no one to relay
Oh yeah
'cause there're too many lies
Oh yeah welcome to the paradise
We can pass anywhere you drive
We can pass anywhere you drive
We can pass anywhere you drive
We'll be formed
into the ray,yeah!
Life on the highway
Is it straight to
hell or heaven?
We'll never mind
Life on the highway
Is it straight to
hell or heaven?
It makes no difference to us
We're falling down
We're falling down
We're falling down
into the promise land
We're falling down
We're falling down
We're falling down
into the promise land
We're falling down
We're falling down
We're falling down
into the promise land
We're falling down
We're falling down
We're falling down
into the promise land
Life on the highway
Is it straight to
hell or heaven?
We'll never mind
Life on the highway
Is it straight to
hell or heaven?
It makes no difference to us
The song "Life on the Highway" by PENPALS is an ode to life on the road, to the nomadic lifestyle of the band and to the freedom that it brings. It starts off with the lyrics "Oh yeah we're already 35, but we'll never be satisfied" which speaks to the idea that the band has been around for a while and has already spent a considerable amount of time on the road, but they still have an insatiable desire for more. The song then goes on to describe life on the highway as a journey, with no set destination--"Is it straight to hell or heaven? We'll never mind."
The band aims to convey the fact that life on the road is full of uncertainty, but at the same time, it is exhilarating and thrilling. The lyrics "We're almost paranoia" suggest that the band is always looking over their shoulders, keeping their senses sharp as they traverse the highways and byways of the country. But this vigilance is offset by the sense of freedom that comes with being on the road, as expressed by the lyrics "We can pass anywhere you drive, We'll be formed into the ray, yeah!" which describes the feeling of being at one with the road and the scenery.
Overall, "Life on the Highway" conveys the excitement and the fantastic experience of life on the road as well as the uncertainties that come with it. It is an ode to the nomadic lifestyle, the open road and the promise of adventure.
