Tell Me Why
PENPALS Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Feel no shame about shape.
Weather changes their phrase
Even mother will show you
another way
So put your glasses on,
nothing will be wrong
There's no fame there's no blame
It's up to you
The first word should be found
Whatever holds you back
I can get it off
Tell me what
Tell me what you want
I don't know why
I don't know why are you afraid
Tell me what
Tell me what you wanna say
I don't know why
but too late,it's too late
Have no fear for real
it's just like a turning wheel
Once you start up,
there's no other way
Don't put your eyes on boots,
step toward your roots
There's no aid there's no trade
it belongs to you
Before you miss something given,
you should know what's the truth
I can make it out
Tell me what
Tell me what you want
I don't know why
I don't know why are you afraid
Tell me what
Tell me what you wanna say
I don't know why
but too late,it's too late

Before you miss something given,
you should know what's the truth
I can make it out
Tell me what
Tell me what you want
I don't know why
I don't know why are you afraid
Tell me what
Tell me what you wanna say
I don't know why
but too late,it's too late
Tell me what
Tell me what you want
I don't know why
I don't know why are you afraid
Tell me what
Tell me what you wanna say

I don't know why
but too late,it's too late

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of PENPALS' song "Tell Me Why" address a deep sense of fear and doubt that reside in many people's hearts. The opening lines, "Feel no shame about shape, weather changes their phrase," suggest that people shouldn't feel ashamed of their physical appearance or circumstances because they're constantly changing. The following lines encourage listeners to look at things from a fresh perspective and to put on their "glasses" to see the world clearly. The lyrics urge people to take control of their own lives and not rely on others for guidance, singing "there's no aid there's no trade, it belongs to you."

The lyrics also speak to the idea of missed opportunities and the importance of knowing oneself. The line "Before you miss something given, you should know what's the truth" suggests that opportunities may come and go, and it's important to know oneself well enough to recognize them. The closing lines of the song repeat the urgency of speaking up and taking action before it's "too late."

Overall, "Tell Me Why" is an uplifting song encouraging listeners to take control of their lives, overcome fear and doubt, and recognize the opportunities around them by staying true to themselves.

I’m just so sadden that the original was taken down. It had so many wholesome comments about people’s feelings on berserk and Miura. YouTube took down a legendary video.

Really ?

@Richard_Daniel333

@@user-ce1zb9vb9b yes really. Berserk was one of the first mangas I have ever read and the 1997 anime was better than the modern ones. Seeing people in the comments section sharing their memories and feelings for this master piece is emotional.

@ramirolosadamedina7843

Why was it taken down?

@Richard_Daniel333

@@ramirolosadamedina7843 DMCA take down probably because YouTube or some company doesn’t like good things

My wife saw this anime when she was 14. After we got married in our 30s, she introduced me to it and we bonded deeply over conversations about how awesome of a work it all is.
