Anything
PFR Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Nothing I can say
Will matter anyway
Just a vain display
With me in the middle

No more empty words
Will anymore be heard
All my rhymes and verbs
Mean very little

It doesn't mean anything without You
Just a nice melody without You
Without Your Spirit to sing
Of the hope and the joy that You bring
Without You it doesn't mean anything

Nothing i'll ever do
Could hold a candle to
The love displayed when You
Said You forgave me

And what I know of love
As that I'm not deserving of
One You called Your Son
One sent to save me
Like love holding the hand of hate
You choose to love me anyway

It doesn't mean anything without You
Just words that I say without You
Without Your Spirit to sing

Of this change of the heart that You bring
Without You it doesn't mean anything

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of PFR's song "Anything" are a deep reflection on the significance of faith and spirituality in the life of the songwriter. The first verse begins with an admission that there are no words, no matter how eloquent or meaningful, that can truly capture the essence of faith, love, and redemption. The songwriter admits that any words spoken or written are just a "vain display" without the presence of God. He goes on to say that all of his "rhymes and verbs mean very little." This speaks to the idea that faith is not just a matter of intellectual understanding, but also requires a spiritual dimension that cannot be fully expressed with words or thoughts alone.

The second verse is a reflection on the nature of love and forgiveness. The songwriter speaks of his own unworthiness and the fact that none of his own deeds or accomplishments can come close to the love shown by God when he forgave him. He acknowledges that it is only through the love of God that anyone can experience true forgiveness and redemption. He then brings up the idea of "love holding the hand of hate," which speaks to the notion that even when faced with hatred or negativity, the powerful force of love can overcome these emotions and lead to true transformation.

Overall, the lyrics of "Anything" are a contemplative and introspective reflection on the role of faith and spirituality in the life of the songwriter. The words speak to the idea that faith is not just about understanding or words, but also requires a deep spiritual connection to a higher power. The song encourages listeners to recognize the importance of this spiritual dimension in their own lives and to seek out a deeper connection to the divine.

We are confident that this incident was not an accident

I think this is more about the fact that it was just her time to go, not that there was foul play. It wasn't an avoidable accident, but just a full life coming to the end
