Last Breath
PFR Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm not here to reform you nor am I here to iake you away
I've been sent with a message and now moving off in a south-bound parade

[Chorus]
If this were my last breath I tell you where I'll be
Then I'd ask you if you'd be there with me

Nobody knows really how long you will be here still you hazard your faith
As my last day grows closer I rest in the confidence I have been saved

[Chorus: x2]

You don't know how long
And I don't know how long

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to PFR's song Last Breath are both hopeful and contemplative, as the singer reflects on the unpredictability of life and what is most important in the face of our own mortality. The opening lines seem to set up an expectation that the singer is going to try to change the listener or save them in some way, but then they clarify that they have simply been given a message to share. This could be interpreted in a religious or spiritual sense, as if the singer has received a revelation or insight that they want to pass on. However, the overall tone of the song is more introspective than evangelical, with the singer acknowledging that no one knows how much time they have left on this earth.

The chorus, which repeats twice throughout the song, is a poignant expression of the singer's desire to share their last moments with someone they care about. By imagining their own death, they are able to cut through the distractions and trivialities of everyday life and focus on the bond that they have with the listener. The repetition of the phrase "last breath" is a powerful reminder that every moment is precious and should be savored.

Overall, Last Breath is a song that encourages the listener to reflect on what is most important in life, to appreciate the people around them, and to live each day to the fullest. It reminds us that we never know when our time will come, but that we can find comfort and strength in our faith and the love of those around us.

on Goldie's Last Day

We are confident that this incident was not an accident

I think this is more about the fact that it was just her time to go, not that there was foul play. It wasn't an avoidable accident, but just a full life coming to the end
