Air Pollution
Page France Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I once adored a chemical reaction
Her eyes were made from pieces of the moon
But now I fight the angels for her halo
She feels that she has nothing left to prove

We once had dreams of being something useful
A sword someone would keep at their side
A friction that would spark a revolution
A radio in tune with the sky
Well, we tried

Now everyone can share what's left
We can share our breath
We can share the air pollution
We can all control the sun
That's what we'll become
You'll become a resolution

Oh, I adore a chemical reaction
Her features look just like my disguise
We see the world through identical lenses
So I never ask what's going through her mind
It's mine

Now everyone can share what's left
We can share our breath
We can share the air pollution
We can all control the sun
That's what we'll become

You'll become a resolution
(x2)

Overall Meaning

In the song "Air Pollution" by Page France, the lyrics revolve around the theme of love and disillusionment. The first verse talks about a chemical reaction, which is a metaphor for love. The singer once adored this chemical reaction, who is described as having eyes made from pieces of the moon. This celestial imagery creates an impression of a person who is otherworldly and unique. However, the second line of the verse suggests that the love has ended, and now the singer is fighting angels for this person's halo. This could mean that there are others who also desire this person, or that the singer has to fight to keep the love alive.

The second verse talks about the dreams that the couple had of being useful, of being a sword that someone would keep at their side, a friction that would spark a revolution, and a radio in tune with the sky. The imagery used in these lines suggests that the couple had lofty goals, and that their love was supposed to be part of something significant. However, the last line of the verse suggests that they failed to achieve their dreams. The chorus talks about how everyone can now share what's left, including air pollution. This line could mean that whatever they had before has now been destroyed or ruined, and all they have left is pollution. The line "We can all control the sun, That's what we'll become, You'll become a resolution" suggests that they will now rise above their previous failures and become something new.

If anyone cares, the young guy's name is David Soyseith (probably spelt wrong) and the girl is Abby Stoner! David was in a band called kill the king, but doesn't really make music like pace france (sadly)! Great pop's concert, almost as good as the year before :D
