Beauty and the Beast
Paige O'Hara and Robby Benson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's something sweet and almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
And now he's dear and so I'm sure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before

She glanced this way, I thought I saw
And when we touched she didn't shudder at my paw
No, it can't be, I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before

New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be
True, that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see

Well, who'd have thought?
Well, bless my soul
Well, who'd have known?
Well, who indeed?

And who'd have guessed They'd come together on their own?
It's so peculiar
We'll wait and see

A few days more
There may be something there that wasn't there before

You know perhaps there is something there that wasn't there before
There may be something there that wasn't there before

My favorite Beast lines: (I crack up every time)

Beast: The castle is your home now, so you can go anywhere you'd like. Except the west wing.
Belle: What's in the west wing?
Beast: IT'S FORBIDDEN!!!

Beast: It would give me great pleasure if you would join me for dinner...please.
Belle: No, thank you.
Beast: You can't stay in there forever!
Belle: Yes, I can!
Beast: Fine! Then go ahead and STAAARRRVVEEE!!!

This man is so underrated. I never thought his normal voice is so different compared to when he did the Beast.

When he said "GET OUT!!", I seriously can't help but laugh. He still got it!

Did NOT expect that harsh, scary voice to come out of someone as slender & well-spoken as him. LOL! Bravo, Robbie! It was nice finally seeing you voice the lines of the Beast I grew up with. 😄

Robby is so into this character The way he does his voice is heart throbbing. He was a teen heartthrob and he is winning us all over again.

Anita Williams

James T. Kirk

@James T. Kirk Not all trained actors can. Voice actors, on the other hand...

James T. Kirk

@Ddrhl
Its called getting into character.
Denzell is a New York native but he can change his voice reflection so you can't tell.
Training Day and the Might Quinn were his finest work.
So if your a decent trained actor. It shouldn't be too hard to suppress your native accent and get into character with a different voice reflection.

@James T. Kirk And, not all trained actors can doesn't mean that no trained actors can. It means that some can and some cannot.
