The band used tape manipulation, digital delays, sampling, tape cut-ups and other effects in their music. They also included guitar, violin, marimba, saxophone, percussion, and many other musical instruments.

PAIN TEENS is distinguished from other rock groups mainly by Scott Ayer's guitar playing- a unique sound that combined swamplike psychedelia and twisted, effects-laden sounds. Bliss Blood's disturbing lyrics and icy delivery helped the PAIN TEENS sound like no other band on earth.

Beginning in 1987, PAIN TEENS released nine out-of-print cassette tapes and two LPs on their own Anomie Records label. Soon after, they released four LPs for Trance Records, an Austin, Texas label run by King Coffee of the band Butthole Surfers.

The live version of the band went through several lineups, including Steve Cook on bass, Ralf Armin on guitar, David Parker and Bart Enoch on drums in 1988, followed by Kirk Carr on bass and Frank Garymartin on drums. They ceased performing live in 1993, after touring with the Boredoms, Fudge Tunnel, Brutal Truth & Season to Risk in that year.

Bliss Blood moved to New York City in 1995 after the release of their sixth full length release, "Beast of Dreams", and formed The Moonlighters with Henry Bogdan from Helmet; Delta Dreambox, a 1920's style blues band; Voodoo Suite, a 1950's exotica lounge jazz group, the "crime jazz"-style Nightcall with Stu Spasm from Lubricated Goat, and many other projects. She currently lives in Brooklyn.

Scott Ayers and Frank Garymartin continued playing together in their new band Walking Timebombs, releasing several cds, Culturcide, Truth Decay, and Anarchitex. In 2009 Scott Ayers began performing solo under the name GelTab, which has been described as "ambient/country", and later started the band Dead Links, which has a heavy progressive rock sound and one album release so far. Other projects include the Electric Knives (psych/punk/noise) and Dead Cowboys (country/folk/blues/americana)

Kirk Carr died of cancer in May 2008.

I'm new to firearms and admittedly had terrible perceptions whenever seeing AR styles. Full 180 now. Educating myself on safety (muzzle discipline, 4 rules for gun safety, etc). Will attend firearm safety, followed by range time. Would love to have someone like Mrgunsngear as an instructor

@Jeoffry Ross just get the CZ unless you have an unholy amount of 20 round + Glock magazines already or something. There's always gonna be another AR, and the Evo's a gorgeous piece of CZechology that's sold for a good price. I was sitting where you were and was looking at a couple different carbine options like the MPX and a couple flavors of AR-9 style carbines and I kept coming back to the Scorpion. You can literally own an AR for every occasion ranging from a SBR for playing SEAL on weekends, a long range option in 5.56, an AR-10 for deer hunting, a 12 gauge for the pure joy of it, a .300 Blk for suppressors, a .458 SOCOM because you hate pigs and money, etc. And there's nothing wrong with that either! Stoner made a hell of a gun. For me though, there's a joy in having some diversity in my safe. It makes the hobby side for me a lot more fun. Plus with the new Scorpion Pmags coming out large capacity mags are fairly affordable to boot.

The young lady did exceptionally well for having so little prior experience, but I think a lot of that is because of the quality of her instructor 😉. Almost 1/3 quicker with the pistol caliber carbine is a testament to the lower recoil, and the benefit of a red dot sight too 👍

@Sigkim I actually learned a good bit about pistol marksmanship from the local parish police. My mom, and dad took a concealed carry class at the PD, and they took me along. I was about 10, or 11. Been a while so I can't really remember when. They're not really "gun nuts" like me, but they have several firearms ( mostly lever guns), and they decided I should learn. More for safety sake than hunting or self defense.

I think that's probably the best way to learn about 2A rights, and skills. Going to classes, and taking your kids to listen and learn the non firing knowledge. As well as learning then passing on what you know to them. Sort of like our family knows, and has some skill at this, to give them a sense of pride and tradition. Also which tribe? My fam is from the Saginaw chippewa in Michigan.

A girl at my church wanted to get a pistol and she had never shot before. I told her go to the range, rent a bunch of guns and see what she liked and what felt best. She ended up with a Glock 42 and loves it. We've been to the range with it and she loves it, she even practices the dry firing tips I've given her.

I've taken women from work shooting with me in the past. The "one" gun most seem to always go for and like is a GLOCK G-42 .380 ACP.

It's small and lightweight so it fits smaller hands well. It's a very accurate pistol and recoils like a .22LR.

It would fit into a purse or in a IWB holster under more feminine form fitting clothing better than something bulky and big.

For a new shooter it was amazing to see her control, on the revolvers, the Sig and LCP when she pulled the trigger and nothing fired she didn't drop down with anticipation. Been shooting most my life and still have to be mindful about that haha. She had a great trainer

Excellent video. I've seen so many people recommend a pocket pistol to females, or a shotgun because it's easy to hit your target, but those are usually terrible options for a new shooter. I recently got my wife to go with me, she is an absolute beast with my Extar EP9 PCC and now wants to go every time I go. My experience in first time female shooters is they tend to arch their back, and this tends to become more pronounced the more they shoot. I try to emphasize shoulders forward and even with their feet. At 8:20 you mentioned this which is good.

Been taking my lady friend shooting. She’s small. 5’3 maybe 105 pounds. Couldn’t manage recoil or weight of my Noveske AR15. She shot my Glock 19 rmr and 19x very well. She preferred my Sig 226 Legion. The heavier metal frame help soak up the recoil. Nice vid.

When it comes to an actual pistol for women, I always recommend the Rock Island Arsenal 1911 commander in 9mm. All my X Girlfriends still have and shoot their Rock Island 1911 Commanders in 9mm. They shoot those things like it’s a 22 pistol. I also, had a lady friend bought a Glock 19 with a CAA Roni w/ Pistol Brace. Had her zero a MD- ADS at 9yards with it.

She did great, Had a good grip and managed the recoil well. The biggest thing I seen was the same issues I have trying to teach is the finger on the trigger and keeping it pointed down range. Two years later I hope she has picked one and practices with it. That is my biggest issue with new shooters, they shoot the new gun twice and want to put it away and not have a regular practice. Learn the gun until your hands know what to do then do it some more. Good video and good for her.

Great video. I have had a few new shooters I've helped. I am glad to see you got revolvers out. The simplicity of a revolver is good in a way. I like to see how people react and what they end up liking. I should have videoed them as I could see where that would come in handy afterwards. Britney did really well. maybe he it would be easier for her when he told her to put it along the slide/reciever i found that new shooters have a hard time finding out where to put the finger when its not on the trigger. Giving a clear reference for that helped in my experience.

Really made me think about the 590 I got my wife for HD loaded with alternating impact exploding shot slugs and 00 buck. Seeing Britney get tossed back on that one shot really has me thinking.

you can actually see around 4:02 that shes anticipating the shot since she took a little longer to break it. otherwise, good shooting for a newer shooter! you could see how slow and smooth her trigger was with the 22! my dad taught pistol safety for years and said women were the best students because they listen to instruction. he'd get a lot of guys in there that thought they knew what they were doing and were unteachable but unfamiliar women were always interested in learning.

In my experience, every woman I have ever helped shoot a 12 gauge shotgun has hated the recoil and the weight of the gun. It’s ridiculous to me that politicians constantly claim that all we need is a shotgun. I know for a fact I feel way more confident in my wife, mom, sister, etc. using a PCC or SBR instead of a shotgun.

I have an older lady neighbor who asked me to teach her how to shoot so this was very helpful in giving guidance on the way to orient a new lady shooter to different guns. I think I'll pass on 12 gauge and 223 but really like the progression especially for a younger more athletic shooter.

I never got on well with small pistols (which back then were .32 DAO Makarovs and the like) and found 12 gauge shotguns too much too handle. Definitely not for me, and it seems Brittany thinks the same (makes me feel better)!

What’s neat is how well she did with DA revolvers. I can’t count the amount of experienced shooters I’ve taken out that can’t make consistent hits with a J frame.

It's also critical to point out to new shooters that the initial "awkwardness" that all new shooter experience is an equivalent feeling to that of physical weakness. Letting a new shooter know up front that they will feel "stronger" in their presentation once they've become more relaxed over time is empowering. Otherwise they may feel that it will always be an uncomfortable experience. After all, firing a gun for the first time is extremely intimidating and uncomfortable for most. Heck, if I do not shoot for a few months I feel awkward at first.

She did awesome! Only thing I'd disagree with here is stock placement on the rifles/braced pistols. I'd rather have to dip my head down and have more of my body behind the stock/brace than the stock being higher up on the shoulder. Great vids as always!

She did good. I like her point of view on the guns. My wife had the same responce to a shotgun. 12 gauge was on shot and a hell no. 20 gauge, she shot the full tube. She didn't like it, but she said it was okay if she had to keep it. I would like to see this young lady in an update.

This is exactly the type of range i want to open up so people can test different guns before they go and buy one that they don't like after shooting it. Awesome video 👍👍👍👍

I think the most interesting thing is watching how most new shooters have the same odd stance when shooting a rifle for the first time. It must be fear of having their face near the ejection port or something.

2nd it being weight. When people have less upper body strength, they tend to lean back in order to balance the weight over their body instead of leaning forward and be off balance

Should be nose over toes.....I see alot of new shooters take an unorthodox stance......sometimes it is a sighting thing......they don't have the proper perspective of where your head needs to be to get a proper sight picture. .....also a fear of recoil or having face close to the gun.

What a great opportunity for a new shooter, instruction from MrGunsnGear! Before she even started shooting, as I tell my wife almost daily when I leave for work; if someone is breaking in, go to the safe, grab the AR. And she didnt limp-wrist the G19, nice.

She did awesome with the G43. I expected her to say she liked the 380 EZ the most of the handguns. I'm surprised you didn't have her try a light .22 rifle with a red dot - I know .22 is a suboptimal defense round, but that's about as pleasant a gun as one can shoot.

Mrgunsngear imo this is probably one of the best video you ever done. I love teaching new shooters I pretty much do the same thing as you do. I will bring out about 10 guns of different types and calibers. I always bring out the ruger lcp the original. People seem to tell new shooters to get a small gun. I can tell you though my experience the ruger LCP is generally the least favorite for new shooters because of grip and recoil is harsh.

It’s nice to see new shooters. She would have to work on having a consistent stance across all platforms/shoulders forward no arch in her back and bring the gun to her eyes instead of cocking her head to the guns sites. Aside from that the best thing she did was show up and try that day because it only gets better from there. 😎

Wow! Here is a far above average student working with a great instructor. Cool example of letting the client make your point for you. Ergonomics wins, and each shooter is different.
Micro pistols are like “experts only” ski slopes—best to start out with something that makes learning fundamentals simpler.
