3 Stars
Palma Violets Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Look in the sky
Up to all has been on
There are three stars
That are brightly shining for
There are shining all so bright
From Heaven above
June gonna miss you
Everybody sends the love

In Heaven there's love
In the back yard
It's the ending of the day
They are shining all so high
From Heaven above
Everybody sends the love

When the night is falling in the summer love
Tell me where you gonna stay tonight
When the night is falling when you're around
Ah

When the night is falling in the summer love
Tell me where you gonna stay tonight

Overall Meaning

Palma Violets' song "3 Stars" is a melancholic number that talks about losing someone close who has passed away. The song begins with the singer looking up at the sky and noticing three bright stars shining brightly, and how they remind him of the person he has lost. As he gazes up, he thinks about the person who has left him behind and how much he's going to miss him. He then goes on to sing about how though the person may be gone, memories of them remain in the little things - like the love they left behind and in the backyard where they used to spend time together.

As the song progresses, the chorus delivers an emotional twist, with the singer asking where the listener is going to stay tonight when the night falls. This line could be interpreted as the singer trying to connect with the person he's lost, perhaps imagining them still living as if they haven't passed. The song then fades out, providing a sad and contemplative ending.
