Call me a fake
Call me a love
Never the same
When I was young
Nobody said
To open up and let this rain go through
You
These feelings of a common sun
I never pass
And never take control
Of you
But you're running out here
Yeah you're running out here
Steady yourself
Down on your knees
All that you want
All that you feel
Can never break Can never bone
And never throw another stone at you
From me
But you're running out here
When no one's talking and no one's listening
Out here oh
You
Other says yes the other says no
The other says stay the other one goes
And put you in clothes
And put you in shows
The other one takes
And nobody knows
But you're running out here
When no one's talking and no one's listening
Out here
When no one's talking and no one's listening
Out here
When no one's talking and nobody wants
But you're running out here
Yeah oh
Yeah oh
Who would survive
the ups and downs of life, where one moment people call you unique and the next, they call you a fake? Paloalto's song "Bones" is a reflection of the complexity of human emotions and relationships. The lyrics depict the contradictory perceptions that people have of each other. One can be an embodiment of love at one moment and change the next. The singer describes how he was never taught how to "open up and let this rain go through" when he was young, which shows how difficult it can be to handle emotions and the way people perceive them. The song is not only about the struggle of accepting oneself but also about accepting others for who they are, for not everyone will see you the same way.
The chorus suggests that the singer is running out, perhaps trying to escape the reality of not being understood. The lines "When no one's talking and nobody wants / But you're running out here" reinforce the feeling of loneliness and isolation, that one is left to struggle with their emotions alone.
The song's lyrics may be a tribute to Paloalto's father, who died when the artist was only 17. The father's passing gave the singer a new perspective on life and introduced him to the idea of "making time matter" before it runs out. The song "Bones" is one of the many songs by Paloalto that reflect his love for his father.
