Never Tear Us Apart
Paloma Faith Lyrics

What you know is true
Don't have to tell you
I love your precious heart
I, I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
We could live for a thousand years
But if I hurt you
I'd make wine from your tears
I told you
That we could fly
'Cause we all have wings
But some of us don't know why
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never ever tear us apart
I, I was standing
(Don't ask me)
(You know it's true)
You were there
(Worlds collided)
Two worlds collided
(We're shining through)
And they could never tear us apart
You, you were standing
(Don't ask me)
(You know it's true)
I was there
(Worlds collided)
Two worlds collided
(We're shining through)
And they could never, ever, ever, tear us apart
The lyrics to Paloma Faith's song "Never Tear Us Apart" are a beautiful expression of eternal love and the unbreakable bond between the two lovers. It begins with a declaration to not question the truth they both know about their love, and how much the person's heart means to the singer. The second stanza talks about two worlds colliding and how nothing could ever come between them, emphasizing the strong bond the lovers share.
The next lines talk about the strength of their relationship, with their love being so resilient that they could live for a thousand years, but if the singer hurt the person, they would make wine from their tears. The bridge is all about how the singer is reassuring their lover that they can conquer the world together because they both have wings. It's a metaphor for how far they can go as a couple and achieve everything they want to. The chorus then repeats, with the idea that the two worlds that collided will never tear them apart.

This version rocks. The original INXS version too of course. They're both good but different. Each one can be enjoyed on its own.
