Panic! at the Disco Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Everybody look at me, me
I walk in the door you start screaming
Come on everybody what chu here for?
Move your body around like a nympho
Everybody get your necks to crack around
All you crazy people come on jump around
I want to see you all on your knees, knees
You either want to be with me, or be me!

Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
Make you buy cars
Make you cut cards
Make you fall real hard in love
She's a Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
Make you buy cars
Make you cut cards
Wish you never ever met her at all!

And when she walks she walks with passion
When she talks, she talks like she can handle it
When she asks for something boy she means it
Even if you never ever see it
Everybody get your necks to crack around
All you crazy people come on jump around
You doing anything to keep her by your side
Because, she said she love you, love you long time!

Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
Make you buy cars
Make you cut cards
Make you fall real hard in love
She's a Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
Make you buy cars
Make you cut cards
Wish you never ever met her at all!

Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
Make you buy cars
Make you cut cards
Make you fall real hard in love
She's a Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater
Make you buy cars
Make you cut cards
Wish you never ever met her at all!

Never ever met her at all!
You wish you never ever met her at all!
You wish you never ever met her at all!
You wish you never ever met her at all!
You wish you never ever met her at all!
You wish you never ever met her at all!
You wish you never ever met her at all!
You wish you never ever met her at all!

Overall Meaning

The song Maneater by Panic! at the Disco is a pop-rock song that revolves around a manipulative woman and her ability to make men work hard, spend money, and fall in love with her. The first verse introduces the focal point of the song, the woman who the singer describes as a "maneater". The chorus follows with the repetition of the phrase "she's a maneater" which emphasizes the power that this woman holds over men.

The second verse highlights some of the characteristics of the "maneater" such as the passion in her walk and the way she speaks with confidence. The bridge reminds the listener of how desperate men can become to keep this woman in their lives, even after she causes them to fall "real hard" in love. The repetition of "make you work hard, make you spend hard" in the chorus shows how much control she holds over these men.

The lyrics suggest that this woman is not to be trusted and can easily manipulate men. The repetition of the last line, "wish you never ever met her at all", is a warning to anyone who encounters such a manipulative person. Overall, the song has a catchy melody and upbeat rhythm that contrasts with the darker subject matter.

god i love panic. almost everything sounded great about the preformance. but i think what ppl need to realise, is that its hard for singers to preform as perfectly as their album songs. in making an album, they take the best parts out of like a thousand attempts at playing and singing it to form one song. artists cant be perfect 24/7. and i think for a live preformance, they did an awesome job. My compliments, boys.

PotterAnimeDork
