The group remained as one of the best-kept-secrets in the chilean underground circuit, and after some years in Chile, the band took off to France. Their last work is the disco-punk "Subliminal Kill" under the Tigersushi Label.
Pánico comienza en Francia, donde se conocen Carolina y Eduardo. Luego de pasar por bandas como La Meta al Cielo y Bolero Boys, se vienen a Chile y reclutan a Esteban "Juanito Zapatillas" y a Sebastian "Tatán Cavernícola" para armar el nuevo proyecto PÁNICO.
Desde un comienzo marcaron una importante presencia en el medio chileno, con una puesta de escena muy lúdica y entretenida que poco a poco fue ganando fanáticos, conocidos como chicos y chicas pánico y, además, por la independencia, un punto muy importante en el desarrollo de la banda y un ejemplo para las demás.
El primer disco que editan es el ya mítico Bruce Lee, que deja clásicos como Fútbol, Yendo al Hipermercado y No me Digas Que No, Si Quieres Decir Que Si. También marcaron un hito sus presentaciones, donde el punk rock y la irreverencia eran parte de un cóctel intenso, en que hasta el público era invitado a participar.
Tras editar el disco Canciones para aprender a cantar -colección de sonidos low fi y canciones que se transformarían en clásicos, como Las Cosas Van Más Lento o El Choclo- viene la etapa EMI. En 1995, EMI decidió reclutar varias bandas del circuito local (como Santos Dumont, Lucybell, Christianes, etc) para mover el mercado de bandas nacionales a punta de promoción, recitales, vídeo clips, etc. Este es el momento en que se edita el disco que -para muchos- es la pieza maestra de los Pánico o, simplemente, su disco favorito. Nos referimos a Pornostar.
Fue con Pornostar que más personas pudieron conocer a los Pánico y su sonido, emparentado claramente con las melodías de Ramones y los bostonianos Pixies. Este disco es casi una ópera rock, con un arte entretenido y con mucha onda, pero lamentablemente no satisfizo las espectativas de EMI. Así, Pánico tuvo que volver a la independencia, no sin antes despacharse un EP de colección: Surfin' Maremoto.
1997 [editar]
Ya en completa libertad, la banda se aleja de las tocatas y se nota una mejora progresiva en el sonido en vivo. En esos tiempos Pánico preparaba la placa sólida Rayo Al Ojo, que reúne algunas cosas antiguas y nuevo material mas rockero combinado con el uso de teclados (chow cables).
En esos días, Edi y Carolina se dedicaron a su sello Combo Discos y comienzan a editar otros proyectos musicales, como Mambo Taxi y Holden de Francia, que sin lugar a dudas se ha transformado en un banda de culto. También en este tiempo se edita Pánico Remixes, compuesto nada menos que por versiones de Rayo Al Ojo.
1999 [editar]
El 18 de septiembre de 1999, la radio Rock and Pop presenta el nuevo sonido de Pánico, con "Electro Tropical Destroy", toda una apuesta de los siempre vanguardistas Pánico que dejó a sus fans totalmente sorprendidos. Positivamente para la banda, con el pesar de los fans, esto marca el principio del fin de Pánico en tierras chilenas
2001 [editar]
Tras firmar contrato con Sony Francia, Pánico realiza un par de tocatas en Santiago, con la fiesta The Clinic Año Nuevo en la cárcel, y se despide de Chile para emigrar a Francia. Desde allí edita Telepatic Sonora, una placa de lujo con invitados de primera línea y un sonido espectacular. Las tocatas siguen en Francia. Hace poco (?????) se editó Ice Cream EP en vinilo y la figura de la banda ha ganado popularidad y respeto en varios sectores.
2005 [editar]
Subliminal Kill es lo nuevo de Pánico, disco que ha recibido muy buenas críticas, tanto así que lograron figuración en las mejores revistas musicales y contacto con bandas de la talla de Franz Ferdinand, quienes se consideran Chicos Pánico.
Pánico recorre europa con bastante éxito y se presenta en Benicàssim, uno de los festivales internacionales más importantes.
2006 [editar]
2006 marca el regreso de Pánico a Chile, con llenos totales en cada una de sus presentaciones. Editados en Chile por el sello La Oreja, actúan tras una larga espera de los fans "old school", cumpliendo además el sueño de muchos nuevos fans que dejaron atónitos a los músicos ya que se sabían cada una de las canciones. El show más importante fue sin dudas en realizado el 29 de marzo en el Teatro Teletón. Pero el más sólido y emocionante fue el de valparaiso, donde Pánico desplegó todo su poderío, deleitando a los casi 3 mil asistentes que repletaron el "Huevo".
