In 10 years, paniq has released more than 10 albums on the net, with many more to come. paniq.org hosts most of his productions, most of of them freely available, all of them Creative Commons licensed.
Getting interested in computer programming at the age of 9, it was impossible to separate him from computers ever since. At the age of 12, secretly toying with the studio equipment of his mother, a known German children music and radio play producer, he got entranced in the world of sequencers and synthesizers. Since sampling hardware was exorbitant at the time, paniq resorted to programming beats using a so-called Tracker program, an early ancestor of today's software-based studio environments.
In 1997, when the world wide web found its way into his family's living room, he began publishing his music online. He joined the demoscene, a creative international collective devoted to creating art with and for computers, which is now his primary platform for art releases.
Since 2006, paniq produces music using his own programs (such as Aldrin) and a lot of other open source audio software.
My Way
Paniq Lyrics

The eerie symbols reappear
and I breathe in smokey air
something's whining in my ear
I payed an one-way fare
thousand visions of my fears,
thousand visions of despair
for thousand visions of a scare
[Refrain:]
Trying my way
screamin' my way
crying my way
dreamin' my way
And in my deepest gloom
sick of my tiny egogame
deep in my inner room
someone's whispering my name
and I remember what they said
it's just a life you play
why do we have a head?
'cause it's the matter of faith
[Refrain:]
Livin' my way
needing my way
givin' my way
breathing my way
"Everybody should have one talent, what's yours?"
"Forging signatures, telling lies, and impersonating practically anybody."
"That's three."
The opening line of Paniq's song "My Way" talks about a common coping mechanism that many people employ to deal with traumatic or unpleasant memories from their past. The idea of locking away these memories in a room in the basement and never going back there is a metaphor for suppressing these memories and not dealing with them. However, the implication is that this coping mechanism is flawed since it doesn't allow for healing or growth and instead keeps the person trapped in the past. The rest of the lyrics discuss the singer's journey through their fears and despair, with a recurring refrain that emphasizes the importance of doing things their way, regardless of what others may say or think.
The lyrics suggest that the singer is struggling with their ego and the pressures of living in a society that values conformity and uniformity. They are tired of playing the game that others have set out for them and want to break free to live life on their own terms. The line "why do we have a head? 'cause it's a matter of faith" suggests that the idea of individuality and free will are central to the human experience and that we must have faith in ourselves to make the right choices.
Overall, the lyrics to "My Way" speak to the universal struggle of finding one's place in the world and the importance of staying true to oneself despite the challenges that come with it.

"Would you just take the past and put it in a room in the basement?
And lock the door and never go in there? That's what I do."
