The styles they played in this era were firstly a hard glam rock style similar to Van Halen and Kiss, then a more tougher glam metal style similar to Motley Crue and Dokken then on "Power Metal" an early 80's Judas Priest style of traditional metal.
The first 3 records include original singer Terry "Glaze" Lee along with all time members "Diamond" Darrell Abbott (Dimebag) (Guitar), Rex "Rocker"Brown (Bass) and Vinnie Paul Abbott(Drums). "Power Metal" was where they first recruited Phil Anselmo who was frontman until the band's demise in the 2000's following Dimebag's murder.
All 4 records were released on their independent label Metal Magic records which was ran by the Abbott brothers' father in Texas, USA.
Rock The World
Pantera (80s) Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Of confusion and sin
We must redeem
Our human ways
This force that
Fights to live
Will fight
Till it dies
To save the day
We all
Rock the world
We all
Rock the world
The power grows
To destroy
This flag of hate
That waves so
High in the air
We raise our fists
In rebellion we stand
Our hungry hearts
Set the snare
We all
Rock the world
We all
Rock the world
Ageless as time
Change is revealed
We will rock for you
We all
Rock the world
We all
Rock the world
The lyrics to Pantera's "Rock the World" present a call to arms for a generation in times of confusion and sin, to redeem their human ways by fighting until they die and rising again to save the day. The force that fights to live is the power that can destroy the flag of hate that is waving so high in the air. In rebellion, fists are raised, and hungry hearts set the snare. The song ends with a promise to rock for the ages and to rock the world.
The lyrics to "Rock the World" are anthemic and meant to inspire. They call for rebellion and resistance against oppression, and urge the listener to fight for what is right. The idea that we all have the power to rock the world underscores the importance of individual action and collective effort. In this song, Pantera presents a vision of hope and empowerment, urging us to take control of our lives and to stand up for what we believe in.

@craigrawlinson4310
I don't know why Pantera ignored their 80s past. It's solid.
@godzillasimpson8357
Phil asselmo is responsible for that. No wonder Vinnie Paul hated him.
@craigrawlinson4310
@Godzilla Simpson rip vinnie Paul and dime
@jhkuno88
It's because many of their songs and style were total ripoffs from other bigger bands of the time, which is normal they were kids. They started over with their own thing with CFH.
@Kriegter
@Jhkuno 88 that was more of the glam metal stuff. This though is awesome. I mean it's the most cliched 80s sound ever but that's what makes it cool
@ganondorfchampin
@Godzilla Simpson I hate Phil Anselmo too. Hell of a set of pipes attached to a terrible person. Utter poser too sense he disowns the true metal album for tough guy BS.
@justinandsheba
This is seriously their best record.
