Secret It took a secret
Secret
I Need to break these chains around me
'Cause you make me feel so alone
In a secret place would you find me?
Is this what I'm asking for?
This war is over
With you a river cried (a river cried)
This game is getting older
It's burning deep inside
It took a secret to control my mind
I have this feeling that I can't define
Why is it so hard? But I'll stay alive
You know that I need to say goodbye(Say goodbye)
If only I could wish my fortune
Life would be a place of my own
I could reach the top of the mountain
See all the writings on the wall
Life makes you falter
Like a file not found (a file not found)
Let your heart open and you'll never back down,
Down to the ground
It took a secret to control my mind
I have this feeling that I can't define
Why is it so hard? But I'll stay alive
You know that I need to say goodbye
It took a secret to control my mind
I have this feeling that I can't define
Why is it so hard? But I'll stay alive
You know that I need to say goodbye(Say goodbye)
Say goodbye
(It took a secret to control my mind)
Ooooooooh
(I have this feeling that I can't define)
Say goodbye
(Why is it so hard? But I'll stay alive)
(You know that I need to say goodbye)
It took a secret to control my mind
I have this feeling that I can't define
Why is it so hard? But I'll stay alive
You know that I need to say goodbye
Say good-bye
(It took a secret to control my mind)
Ooooooooh
(I have this feeling that I can't define)
Say goodbyeeeeeee
(Why is it so hard? But I'll stay alive)
(You know that I need to say goodbye)
It took a secret to control my mind
I have this feeling that I can't define
Why is it so hard? But I'll stay alive
You know that I need to say goodbye
The lyrics of Paola & Chiara's song "Secret" refers to an individual's struggle to break away from the control of someone or something, which is affecting the person's mental and emotional well-being. The singer is expressing her need to free herself from the chains that are making her feel isolated, and she is wondering if seeking refuge in secrecy could make her feel better. However, she realizes that this would not be the solution to her problems as the war within her would still be raging even without any outside interference. The lyrics also reveal the importance of being open to the heart to overcome any obstacles that come in the path of a person's life.
The recurring phrase, "It took a secret to control my mind," reflects how a hidden truth or deception can be harmful to a person's psyche, leading to confusion and misery. The singer is struggling with intense emotions that she cannot describe, and it appears to be a complicated situation one that she acknowledges will be hard to overcome. However, despite the challenges, she is determined to stay alive and say goodbye to whatever is causing her pain. The singer is questioning the situation that she is in and, by doing so, is recognizing the need to get out of it.
Overall, the lyrics of "Secret" explore themes of personal struggle, the importance of being genuine about one's emotions, and the need to say goodbye to negative influences to have a healthy life.
