fallo presto, fallo adesso,
giuro che, d'ora in poi,
non farò più passi falsi,
però tu credimi,
se puoi perdonami,
ci sono cose ancora da salvare,
ci sono cose tra di noi che il tempo non cancellerà, nemmeno se lo vuoi...
Amami... amami,
con un bacio con uno sguardo,
con il sorriso degli occhi tuoi...
Amami... amami,
so che è dura ma dammi l'aria,
per farmi vivere ancora un po'...
Torna qui, resta qui,
ti darò, quello che desideri,
anche se, perderò,
ciò che ho, ti riavrò,
adesso credimi,
se puoi aiutami,
la verità è nascosta nel dolore,
io sarò per te la luce che volevi,
ma tu ritorna qui...
Amami... amami,
con un bacio con uno sguardo,
con il sorriso degli occhi tuoi...
Amami... amami,
so che è dura ma dammi l'aria,
per farmi vivere ancora un po'...
Io sono qui,
adesso credimi,
se puoi aiutami,
a capire come tu mi vuoi...
Amami... amami,
con un bacio con uno sguardo,
con il sorriso degli occhi tuoi...
Amami... amami,
so che è dura ma dammi l'aria,
per farmi vivere ancora un po'...
Amami... amami,
con un bacio con uno sguardo,
con il sorriso degli occhi tuoi...
Amami... amami,
so che è dura ma dammi l'aria,
per farmi vivere ancora un po'...
The lyrics to Paolo Meneguzzi's song "Amami" speak of a plea for forgiveness and a desire to salvage a relationship. The singer asks the person to stay with him and promises not to make any more mistakes, begging for their forgiveness. He acknowledges that there are things that cannot be erased by time, but hopes that their love can overcome any obstacles. The chorus emphasizes his need to be loved and to receive a kiss, a look, or a smile from the person he is speaking to. He acknowledges that it is difficult but asks for a chance to continue living.
The second verse reinforces the theme of forgiveness and the desire to make things right. The singer promises to give the person what they desire, even if it means losing something in the process. He begs for their help and understanding, stating that the truth is hidden in their pain. He wants to be the light they need and pleads for the person to return. The closing lines of the song are a repetition of the chorus, emphasizing once again the need for love and the difficulty of the situation.
Overall, the song conveys a feeling of desperation and a longing to be loved and forgiven. The lyrics speak to anyone who has been in a difficult relationship and wants to make amends.
