ti portano a fare follie
ti danno un casino di guai
ma ti piace
Zucchero e sale sono i giorni tuoi nei miei
non c'è tempo devo morire
così tu capirai che anch'io per te sono importante
gioco d'onore che ora nn mi basta più
l'orgoglio ci ferisce sento dolore
lasciarti cercarti non farti andare
Sai le cose che ami di più
sono quelle che dicono no
o sono difficili da conquistare
sai le cose che ami di più
ti portano a fare follie
ti danno un casino di guai
ma ti piace
Dammi il tuo amore ti dirò di no senza aspettare
mandami via ti darò il mio cuore
ora lo so che siamo tutti qui a fare finta di dire no dire si
ora lo so (ora lo so)
non possiamo più farci male
Sai le cose che ami di più
sono quelle che dicono no
o sono difficili da conquistare
sai le cose che ami di più
ti portano a fare follie
ti danno un casino di guai
ma ti piace
sai le cose che ami di più son quelle che dicono no
o sono difficili da conquistare
sai...
The lyrics of "Le Cose Che Ami" by Paolo Meneguzzi describe a relationship where two people have strong feelings for each other, but they are hesitant to express them fully. The first verse speaks of the person's eyes, which are filled with expectation and hope. The singer admits that everything else is just an excuse, and that this person is the most important thing in their life. The singer talks about a game of honor that they never fully understood and wonder what the best thing to do is: to let the person go or hold on tight.
The chorus (sai le cose che ami di più, sono quelle che dicono no o sono difficili da conquistare/ you know that the things you love the most are the ones that say "no" or are difficult to achieve) emphasizes that the things we desire the most can also cause us the most trouble. The singer implies that the person they love might lead them down a path of madness, but they still love the thrill of it.
The second verse talks about how the loved one's impact is felt like "sugar and salt" in the singer's life. They claim that there isn't enough time and that they have to die to make their point. They then express how much the person means to them with phrases such as "I too am important to you" and that the game of honor between them no longer satisfies the singer.
The bridge (Dammi il tuo amore ti dirò di no senza aspettare/ give me your love and I'll say no without hesitation) is a plea from the singer to the person they love. They finally reach a realization that neither of them wants to hurt each other anymore and that they have been fooling themselves by saying "yes" and "no."
Overall, the lyrics express the complexity of relationships and the contradictory feelings that come with them. It highlights how sometimes we're willing to take risks for the ones we love, even if it means getting hurt in turn.
