Born on born 9th January 1987 in Paisley, Scotland, his father is of Italian descent and his mother Glaswegian, although his father's family have been in Scotland for four generations. Nutini had no formal music training, and was expecting to follow his father into the family fish and chip shop business. He was first encouraged to sing by his music-loving grandfather and a teacher at his school who recognised his talent. He left school to work as a roadie and to sell T-shirts for Speedway and spent three years learning the music business, performing live, alone and with a band, and working as a studio hand at Glasgow's Park Lane Studio.
His big chance came when he attended a concert for David Sneddon's return to his home town of Paisley at the beginning of 2003. Sneddon was delayed, and as the winner of an impromptu pop quiz, Nutini was given the chance to perform a couple of songs on stage during the wait. The favourable reaction of the crowd impressed another member of the audience, who offered to become his manager.
A Daily Record journalist, John Dingwall, saw him performing at the Queen Margaret Union, and invited him to appear live on Radio Scotland. Still only seventeen, he moved to London, and performed regularly at the Bedford pub in Balham whilst still legally too young to drink alcohol himself. Other radio and live appearances followed, including two live acoustic spots on Radio London, The Hard Rock Cafe, and support slots for Amy Winehouse and KT Tunstall.
His debut album, These Streets, produced by Ken Nelson (Coldplay/Gomez), was released on 17th July 2006, and immediately entered the U.K. album charts at number three. Many of the songs on the album, including "Last Request" and "Rewind", were inspired by a turbulent relationship with a girlfriend, and "Jenny Don't Be Hasty" is a true story about encounters with an older woman.
On 29th May 2009 Nutini released his second studio album, Sunny Side Up, after the first single from that album, "Candy", was released on 18th May. In July, he appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, performing "Coming Up Easy". This was released as the second single from the album on 10th August.

To the back of my mind
I recognize what you mean to me
And all the corners of our pictures
Are a long time afraid
They still symbolize what you mean to me
You ask me to remember
Well I'd be a fool to want more from you
And I'm gone in a while
I'll be gone in a while
I'll be gone in a while
It's all that I do
I'll cry and you cry and we'll cry
Till the rain turns black
And the devil moves and clings to us
And for a moment there is beauty
It's not a simple yearning
Sometimes it feels like it's all I've gotten
It's all a dream
And I ask you to remember
A kiss is but a kiss
You'd be a fool to want more from me
And I'm gone in a while
I'll be gone in a while
I'll be gone in a while
It's all that I do
From the corner of my eye
Through the back of my mind
I recognize what you mean to me
And the and promises captured in one kiss
We had and we seek and we squander
That there's more
Something more than me
And I'm gone in a while
I'll be gone in a while
I'll be gone in a while
It's all that I do
It's all that I do
It's all that I do
It's all that I do
"One Day" by Paolo Nutini is an emotional song that speaks about the fleeting nature of love and the struggle to find meaning in the moments shared with a significant other. The first stanza speaks to the power of memory, with the singer recognizing the significance of the person they're with and the value of the past experiences they've shared. Despite the beauty and symbolism imbued in their memories, however, the singer is resigned to the ephemerality of their relationship. This sense of transience is underscored by the repeated refrain that the singer will be "gone in a while" - emphasizing that even though they cherish their time together, it will ultimately come to an end.
The second verse continues in this vein, with the singer acknowledging that their entire relationship is built on what is ultimately a simple physical act - a kiss. Though they long for something more, they are resigned to their fate and focused instead on the present moment. The line about crying until "the rain turns black" speaks to the intensity of their emotions - this is not a light-hearted fling, but something that inspires deep feelings of loss and desperation. The final lines of the second verse mirror the refrain from the first stanza, further emphasizing the cyclical, repetitive nature of the singer's existence.
The final verse of the song explores the idea that even though moments of beauty may be fleeting, they are worth cherishing. The promises captured in a single kiss may be elusive and difficult to hold onto, but they are still something worth seeking out. This verse ends with the same refrain as the previous two, reinforcing the overall theme of the song.
Overall, "One Day" is a melancholy and introspective song that explores the pain of lost love and the struggle to find meaning in a world where everything is temporary.

Мы платим жизни по долгам
За те грехи, что в жизни были,
За то, что мы ни тех любили,
Молясь порой ни тем богам

Stop saying Paolo is underrated! He might not be in the spotlight right now but people who understand music really love his art and his talent. He has played in so many countries and festivals 😍 I am proud of him and his choices, about how he positions himself in media and everything else.
@paulinelamont7431
Couldn’t agree more. He doesn’t strike me as someone who does what he does for accolades or fame. He is driven to make the beautiful music I think, and is as famous as he wants/needs to be.
@melodiequinn6099
He deserves far more fame than he gets.
@courtneyjenson9872
I agree, he's amazing
