The band featured guitarist/vocalist Ryan Nicolussi (formerly of The Jacket), bassist Anastasi Kotoros and drummer Nik Russo (also of Mirrorsessions and Bennie James and the Hesitant Few). The band was formed in 2009 after Nicolussi had ended his time in The Jacket and found himself "in limbo". He began writing solo material, and subsequently asked Kotoros and Russo to be a part of the band. The line-up was cemented through several gigs in Wollongong and Sydney. The band came first in the University of Wollongong band comp and second in the Illawarra Mercury Battle of the Bands in 2009. They changed their name to Slow Waves in 2010 and ultimately disbanded in 2011.
3. Paper Moon was an Utrecht based Dutch band, active from 2003 to 2005. The band played guitar popsongs, and released one studio album, Brittle Hearts, in 2004. Better Days
Paper Moon Lyrics

Shades of gold falling to the ground
It takes me back to
Better days when you were still around
but I cannot go on without your memory
Even though it hurts to be inside of me
I don't mean that much to you
Close my eyes pretend you are here
One side is black
Impossible to not look back
the moon is waxing
Then it's full waiting to extend
It never looks back
Moons ahead carries no regrets
but I am not so strong dwelling constantly
It's clear you have moved on much too easily
I already know how you feel
I don't mean that much to you
Close my eyes pretend you are here
One side is red
A glimmer of a ???
the summer sun has been lost
To winter chills of ice and snow
Can I create warmth in the cold?
Remember what I knew long ago
I already know how you feel
I don't mean that much to you
Close my eyes pretend you are here
When the sky is blue
I'll no longer think of
When the sky is blue
I'll no longer think of you
I'll no longer think of you
I'll no longer think of you
I'll no longer think of you
The song “Better Days” by Papermoon is a melancholic and introspective track that reflects on the memories and pain associated with a past love. The opening lines set a nostalgic tone, with the imagery of golden leaves falling to the ground symbolizing the passage of time and the fading of something once cherished. The singer longs for the presence of their former lover, reminiscing on “Better days when you were still around,” but acknowledges the impossibility of moving on without their memory.
The chorus of the song “Better Days” is where the lyrics truly shine. The singer acknowledges the truth of the situation, that they don’t mean much to the person they once loved, and they are left to deal with that painful reality. The line “Close my eyes pretend you are here” shows the singer clinging to the memory of their love, even if it is just a fleeting moment of imagined presence. The second verse continues in a similar vein, with the metaphor of the moon waxing and waning paralleling the singer’s own strength and resilience. However, the line “It's clear you have moved on much too easily” shows the singer’s frustration with their inability to do the same.
In the final section of the song, the singer reflects on the changing of the seasons and the hope for the future. The line “Can I create warmth in the cold?” speaks to the possibility of finding love or happiness in the future, even if it seems impossible in the present. The final repetition of “I'll no longer think of you” shows the singer’s determination to move on and let go of the past.
