And I saw your face like some sort of neon dream
And of all the cars and the bars and the stars on Sunset Boulevard
I saw you and you couldn't tell me what that means
Or what I'd seen
Oh but when it hit me
It was not the same thing
Finally I was seeing
Everything so clearly
Took what I'd been thinking
And washed it away
I didn't see it coming
I didn't see it coming
I didn't see it coming,
Coming, coming, coming, coming, coming, coming
I didn't see it coming
Well the streetlights flickered
And the hot air sighed
The conversation it stopped on a dime
A cruise missile flying into this little
Land of these naive dreams of mine
And I was told don't speak with your mouth open
But I couldn't help it cause you had chosen
As I watched that sky blue limo drive away
Oh but when it hit me
It was not the same thing
I had missed it all like tears in the rain
Finally I was seeing
Everything so clearly
Took what I'd been thinking
And washed it away
I didn't see it coming
I didn't see it coming
I didn't see it coming
Coming, coming, coming, coming, coming, coming
I didn't see it coming
A little skin
A little money
A little taste
A little honey
A little white lie
But if you love it
Tell me who am I to judge?
A little skin
A little money
A little taste
A little honey
A little white lie
But if you love it
Tell me who am I to judge?
A little skin
A little money
A little taste
A little honey
A little white lie
But if you love it
Tell me who am I to judge?
I didn't see it coming
I didn't see it coming
I didn't see it coming
Coming, coming, coming, coming, coming, coming
I didn't see it coming
I didn't see it coming
In the song "Didn't See It Coming" by Parachute, the singer reflects on a missed opportunity and expresses regret for not realizing what was right in front of them. The song starts with the singer seeing a sky blue limo drive by and suddenly recognizing the face of someone they know, which leaves them perplexed and questioning the meaning of the encounter. As the person drives away, the singer realizes that they missed their chance to connect and that he had been blind to the signs that were right in front of him.
Through the lyrics, the singer recognizes his mistake and acknowledges the fact that he didn't see the opportunity coming. He uses the metaphor of "tears in the rain" to describe how he had been oblivious to what was happening, and how his realization had finally come to him. The chorus repeats the line "I didn't see it coming" to emphasize the regret and missed opportunity that the singer feels. The song ends with the singer accepting his mistake and understanding that sometimes things happen in life, and we can't control everything.
The overall theme of the song is one of self-reflection and acceptance of past mistakes. The lyrics depict the singer's realization of a missed opportunity and the painful process of accepting that fact. The song speaks about the important lesson of paying attention to one's surroundings and seizing the moment when it presents itself.
