Miracle
Paramore Lyrics
I've gone for too long
Living like I'm not alive
So I'm gonna start over tonight
Beginning with you and I
When this memory fades
I'm gonna make sure it's replaced
With chances taken, hope embraced
And have I told you
'Cause I've been waiting for a miracle
And I'm not leaving
I won't let you
Let you give up on a miracle
When it might save you
We've learned to run from
Anything uncomfortable
We've tied our pain below
And no one ever has to know
That inside we're broken
I try to patch things up again
To calm my tears and kill these fears
But have I told you, have I
I'm not going
'Cause I've been waiting for a miracle
And I'm not leaving
I won't let you
Let you give up on a miracle
When it might save you
It's not faith if
If you use your eyes
You'll lie
We'll get it right this time (This time)
Let's leave this all behind
Oh, I will get it right this time
It's not faith if you're using your eyes
Oh, I...
Well I've gone for too long
Living like I'm not alive
So I'm gonna start over tonight
Beginning with you and
I don't want to run from
Anything uncomfortable
I just want no
I just need this pain to end right here
I'm not going
'Cause I've been waiting for a miracle
And I'm not leaving
I won't let you
Let you give up on a miracle
'Cause it might save you
Yeah, it might save you
Oh, it might save you
It's not faith if you
If you use your eyes
If you use your eyes
If you use your eyes

The seventh song of Paramore’s second album "Riot!" is a conversation of Hayley with herself and with God; she talks about her depression, getting through self-hate, and self-injury.
In live performances, the song is usually followed by an outro that fans have grown to love; the outro says:
"I asked for love. I asked for mercy. I asked for patience, but you’re already all of these things. If I knew what I needed… if I knew what was good for me… I’d be down on my knees begging please Read Full BioThe seventh song of Paramore’s second album "Riot!" is a conversation of Hayley with herself and with God; she talks about her depression, getting through self-hate, and self-injury.

Hayley talked about this song on Parahoy. She said:
"This song started in 2005, that’s when it began, just the guitar riff. We were touring with a band called My American Heart and it was our first year on the road, we were learning a lot about ourselves and touring. My dad was driving us on the van because none of us were old enough and he would go “five minutes early is fifteen minutes too late” so we would be there 3 hours before soundcheck and we worked on this song everyday."

[Verse 1]
Now I've gone for too long living like I'm not alive
So I'm gonna start over tonight
Beginning with you and I
When this memory fades, I'm gonna make sure it's replaced
With chances taken, hope embraced
And have I told you?
[Chorus]
I'm not going
Cause I've been waiting for a miracle
And I'm not leaving
I won't let you
Let you give up on a miracle
When it might save you
[Verse 2]
We've learned to run from anything uncomfortable
We've tied our pain below
And no one ever has to know that inside we're broken
I try to patch things up again
To count my tears and kill these fears
But have I told you, have I?
[Chorus]
I'm not going
Cause I've been waiting for a miracle
And I'm not leaving
I won't let you
Let you give up on a miracle
When it might save you

It's not faith if, if you use your eyes
You'll lie
We'll get it right this time

Is it weird I’m going through a Paramore phase at 23? Obviously I always knew about them, my best friend was obsessed with them in the 7th grade and I liked their singles but just didn’t care that much lol. I finally deep dived into every album and realized how consistently good everything is.... better late than never, and at least the lyrics are way more relevant to adult me than they would have been to teenage me. But damn..... I wish I had that nostalgia former emo/scene kids get when they listen to old paramore 😔

I became fan in 2013/2014 when I just started high school and to listen Paramore in high school was the best experience ever😭😍

It's great but it's painful af too. At 27 listening. It's harder than I thought. So beautiful. So helpful. So soulful. So deep. Glorious.

Thanks for being here! It's def not too late. ❤️

Dude, you never are too late to enjoy songs. Because there will come a time in your life when you need to hear something that sings whatever it is that you want to scream and no song is too old for one's emotions.

I just logged in to answer to your comment because yeah it's absolutely the same for me. I think we find the things at the right timing and the lyrics fit so well right now.

It's funny how you forget about these songs but when you come back to them you still know all the words
