Playing God
Paramore Lyrics

Or make any with precision
Well, maybe you should tie me up
So I don't go where you don't want me
You say that I've been changing
That I'm not just simply ageing
Yeah, how could that be logical?
Woah
You don't have to believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
And break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger
I'll point you to the mirror
If God's the game that you're playing
Well, we must get more acquainted
Because it has to be so lonely
To be the only one who's holy
It's just my humble opinion
But it's one that I believe in
You don't deserve a point of view
If the only thing you see is you
Woah
You don't have to believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
And break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger
I'll point you to the mirror
This is the last second chance
(I'll point you to the mirror)
I'm half as good as it gets
(I'll point you to the mirror)
I'm on both sides of the fence
(I'll point you to the mirror)
Without a hint of regret
I'll hold you to it
I know you don't believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
Or break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger
I'll point you to the mirror
I know you won't believe me
But the way I, way I see it
Next time you point a finger
I might have to bend it back
And break it, break it off
Next time you point a finger
I'll point you to the mirror
The song "Playing God" by Paramore is about standing up for oneself and not allowing others to control one's life. The lyrics suggest a struggle for independence and autonomy in the face of manipulation and condescension. The first verse describes the singer’s inability to make decisions for themselves and being told what to do. The bridge of the song expresses the singer's frustration with the person who is trying to control her life. The lyrics suggest that the person is playing God in their relationship because they are trying to have ultimate control.
The chorus of the song - "you don't have to believe me, but the way I see it" - is a call to take control of one's own life and to assert one's own beliefs and opinions. The second verse is a direct confrontation with the person who is trying to control the singer. The lyrics suggest that the other person should take a good look at themselves - represented by the metaphor of "pointing you to the mirror" - as they are the one who needs to change their behavior. The song ends with the singer firmly insisting that they will not tolerate being controlled any longer.
Overall, "Playing God" is a call to assert one's own agency and to resist the control of others. Through forceful lyrics and an energetic punk-pop sound, Paramore makes a case for standing up for oneself and resisting manipulation.

Hello December Brie !
Honestly, I don't have much news on them right now.
For awhile I only listened to their former songs (from All We Know and Riot).
It just didn't feel the same without the Farro Bro's. The split was too heart breaking.
I've only started listening to their new songs (those after the split) recently.
They still have three of the original members; Hayley, Jeremy, & Taylor.
They have a new album, self-titled.
One of their latest releases is Ain't It Fun. I like it. It's catchy, and kinda reminds me of Fences. When I listen to it, it's like listen to the old (complete) Paramore. :)
I do wish all of them the best.
Hope this helps.
