Paramore, as a quartet, released their debut studio album, All We Know Is Falling, in 2005. The band rose to prominence in 2007 after the release of the hit single Misery Business from their second studio album Riot!. Crushcrushcrush and That's What You Get were released as the following singles experiencing commercial success. The band was nominated for "Best New Artist" at the 2008 Grammy Awards. The band announced the official line-up addition of Taylor York in June 2009 prior to the release of Brand New Eyes due later the same year. Josh Farro (guitar) and his brother Zac Farro left the band the following year, resulting in Paramore to continue as a trio.
From 2013 to 2014, Paramore released several singles from the self-titled album, including the singles Still Into You and Ain't It Fun. The latter became the band's highest-peaking single as well as their first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned the band their first Grammy award for "Best Rock Song" the following year. At the end of 2015, it was reported Jeremy Davis (bass guitar) left the band.
In 2017, Zac Farro officially rejoined the band, prior to the release of their fifth studio album, "After Laughter".

Paramore Lyrics

Cause I'll be right here with the words you said
I'm looking for the words to say
You know what you did you know
And how can anybody
Forget the promise that you made?
Well this is how a promise breaks
Always knew you'd fall through
Rewind to the first time
That I felt it coming
I knew it would not last
Rewind to the first time
That I felt it coming
Make it quick, make it painless
Don't tell me lies, just say goodbye
Now you're running from me
So cool, so scared
Of what you might have said
But no ones ever looked away
Cause we know what you did, we know
If I told anybody
That we would soon forget your name
You would never have a place
I always knew you'd fall through
And now you'll prove
Rewind to the first time
That I felt it coming
I knew it would not last
And rewind to the first time
That I felt it coming
Make it quick, make it painless
Don't tell me lies, just say goodbye
Please don't say too much ohhh
I think we've heard enough from you ohhh
Rewind to the first time
That I felt it coming
I knew it would not last
And rewind to the first time
That I felt it coming
Make it quick, make it painless
Don't tell me lies, just say goodbye
Don't tell me lies, just say goodbye
The lyrics of "Rewind" by Paramore depict a relationship gone sour. The singer is hurt by the words the other person said but still can't help but cling to the past. They are stuck looking for the right words to say, knowing that the other person had made a promise they ultimately couldn't keep. The singer is frustrated with the other person's inability to remain constant and is hurt that they have to be the one to say goodbye.
