Paramore, as a quartet, released their debut studio album, All We Know Is Falling, in 2005. The band rose to prominence in 2007 after the release of the hit single Misery Business from their second studio album Riot!. Crushcrushcrush and That's What You Get were released as the following singles experiencing commercial success. The band was nominated for "Best New Artist" at the 2008 Grammy Awards. The band announced the official line-up addition of Taylor York in June 2009 prior to the release of Brand New Eyes due later the same year. Josh Farro (guitar) and his brother Zac Farro left the band the following year, resulting in Paramore to continue as a trio.
From 2013 to 2014, Paramore released several singles from the self-titled album, including the singles Still Into You and Ain't It Fun. The latter became the band's highest-peaking single as well as their first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned the band their first Grammy award for "Best Rock Song" the following year. At the end of 2015, it was reported Jeremy Davis (bass guitar) left the band.
In 2017, Zac Farro officially rejoined the band, prior to the release of their fifth studio album, "After Laughter".
Where the Lines Overlap

I need it now
Too much distance
To measure it out, out loud
Chasing patterns across a personal map
And making pictures where the line overlap
Where the lines overlap
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Call me over, and tell me how
Well you got so far
Never making a single sound
I'm not used to it
But I can learn
There's nothing to it
I've never been happier
Never been happier
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Now I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough
You would sing it back to me
I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough
You would sing it back to me
I've got a feeling
I've got a feeling
That you would sing it back to me
That you would sing it back to me
No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won
No one (no one) is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
The song "Where The Lines Overlap" by Paramore explores themes of connection and mutual understanding between two people who are separated by distance, but bridging the gap through a shared experience. The first verse expresses the need for attention and connection from the other person, despite the distance between them. The second verse goes on to describe the process of learning about the other person's journey and how they've come this far, and feeling grateful for the ability to share that experience. The chorus emphasizes the feeling of luck and gratitude for having found each other and the special connection they share even though they are still early on in their journey.
The bridge of the song serves as an invitation to the listener to join in and sing along, further emphasizing the sense of connection and shared experience that is at the heart of the song. The repeated line "I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough, you would sing it back to me" is almost like a call-and-response, as if the singer is testing the listener's willingness to participate in the shared experience.
Overall, "Where The Lines Overlap" is a beautiful ode to the power of connection, even across distances and differences, and the ability of shared experiences to bring people closer together.

Give me attention
I need you to notice me
I need it now
I need your attention immediately
Too much distance
We are too far apart
To measure it out, out loud
It's difficult to express our distance vocally
Chasing patterns across a personal map
We're trying to find our way through life
And making pictures where the lines overlap
We're creating something beautiful where our lives intersect
Where the lines overlap
In the areas where our paths cross
No one is as lucky as us
We are fortunate to have each other
We're not at the end yet but we already won
We have achieved happiness before the end of our journey
Call me over, and tell me how
Can you come to me and explain something?
Well you got so far
I'm impressed with your accomplishments
Never making a single sound
You achieved success silently
I'm not used to it
I'm not accustomed to silent victories
But I can learn
I am willing to adapt
There's nothing to it
It's easy to adjust
I've never been happier
I am incredibly content
Now I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough
I have a strong intuition that if I sing this song loudly
You would sing it back to me
You will respond by singing it back to me
No one (no one) is as lucky as us
We remain grateful for our good fortune
Is as lucky as us
We are uniquely fortunate
Is as lucky as us
We are so incredibly lucky
Is as lucky as us
No one else is as fortunate as us

Give me attention, I need it now
Too much distance to measure it out, out loud
Tracing patterns across a personal map

No, no, no one is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us

Call me over, and tell me how
Well, you got so far
Never making a single sound
I'm not used to it
But I can learn
There's nothing to it

No one is as lucky as us
We're not at the end yet but we already won

Distância demais

No one is as lucky as us
Ninguém é tão sortudo quanto nós
We're not at the end but
Nós não estamos no fim, mas
Oh we already won
Oh, nós já vencemos
Oh no, no one
Oh não, ninguém
Is as lucky as us
É tão sortudo quanto nós
Is as lucky as us
É tão sortudo quanto nós
Call me over
Me ligue
And tell me how
E me diga como
You got so far
Você chegou tão longe
Never making a single sound
Sem fazer nem um único som
I'm not used to it but I can learn
Não estou habituada a isso, mas eu posso aprender
There's nothing to it
Não é difícil

Now I've got a feeling if I sang this loud enough, you
Agora eu tenho a sensação de que se eu cantar alto o bastante
Would sing it back to me
Você cantaria de volta pra mim
I've got a feeling if I sang this loud enough, you
Eu tenho a sensação de que se eu cantar alto o bastante
Will sing it back to me
Você vai cantar de volta pra mim
I've got a feeling
Eu tenho a sensação
I got a feeling
Eu tenho a sensação
That you, will sing it back to me
Que você, cantará de volta para mim
You, will sing it back to me
Você, cantará de volta para mim
No one is as lucky as us
Ninguém é tão sortudo quanto nós
We're not at the end but
Nós não estamos no fim, mas
Oh we already won
Oh, nós já vencemos
Oh no
Ninguém
No one is as lucky as us
