God Is In Control
Paris Twila Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This is no time for fear
This is a time for faith and determination
Don't lose the vision here
Carried away by the motion
Hold on to all that you hide in your heart
There is one thing that has always been true
It holds the world together
God is in control
We believe that His children will not be forsaken
God is in control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him, we know
God is in control

History marches on
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages
Culture can make its plan
Oh, but the line never changes
No matter how the deception may fly
There is one thing that has always been true
It will be true forever

He has never let you down
Why start to worry now? (2x)
He is still the Lord of all we see

And He is still the loving Father
Watching over you and me

The lyrics to Paris Twila's "God Is In Control" are a message of hope and faith. The song proclaims that in tumultuous times, one should not lose faith, but rather cling to it, for it is the one thing that has always been true and holds the world together. The chorus speaks of how God is indeed in control, and how we as His children will not be forsaken, and can choose to remember this, always keeping it in mind so that we are never shaken by any deception or chaos that may fly around us. The song then goes on to discuss how history marches on, and culture can make its plan, but the truth is that God is always in control, and that He is the Lord of all we see. The song reassures us that God has never let us down, and there is no reason to worry now.

Yes, with all of the ugliness and strife and finger-pointing and whining and rioting after the election, the message of this song says it all. The truth is that no matter who the president of the USA is, whether you like that person or not as president, in the end God is our true Commander in Chief. Let us not lose sight of that fact. He is omnipotent, He is omnipresent, He is omniscient. He is the only one who can claim such power. Hallelujah!

@Donald McKay Yeah, I am responding three years late. Speaking of clean water, I have been blessed enough to be able to have three water wells built in Kenya. It wasn't cheap, tens of thousands of dollars. But what fulfillment it brings me to know that many kids no longer have to walk three miles to drink dirty water from a mud puddle.

This is why I choose not to vote. GOD is who I have to answer to in the afterlife.

I pray that Mr Putin and Mr. Biden would come to realize that and just not give Him just political acknowledgement.

@Lisha Yost : What a profound blog, composed by you!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘Many kudos; I feel more enlightened after reading it. Agree that THIS culture sees Christianity, Religion and all Spiritually related subjects/material/information as Commercial gain. The country's CORE is quite hollow. Quite opposite of the African culture, whose practices are deeply rooted in Faith And Trust In An Unseen Power greater than EVERY mortal who will EVER exist.

@Gary Strader I did not mean for my comment to be offensive. My point was not to say Americans don't have faith as well, just to say that even though Africans have their struggles that seem very horrible to Americans, they actually do quite well have have a lot of joy and faith in God (at least the ones that believe in God) despite their struggles. My point was actually to NOT compare as much as it might not have come off that way. EVERYONE has struggles in this world, different types. American, African, or whatever. Americans have their own struggles. Money does not solve everything.
