We just left a Baptism Celebration at Cherry Hills Community Church where 328 wonderful folks were baptized this afternoon. Wow! As we get into the car to head home KLove is on the radio and begins to play Kristian Stanfill's song, "My Heart Is Yours". Timing is everything!

I became a true Christian in 2014. The prayer for salvation I gave was basically me telling Jesus I surrendered my life and will to him, and asking that he would be the driving force of my life, so pretty much what this song is saying. The hymn “I Surrender All” became a favorite of mine after that. I was truly born again, but in mid 2016 I foolishly pushed myself away for a stupid reason that I knew was half-baked even at the time. I lived more worldly and tried to convince myself that I wasn’t really born again. But looking back I know the Holy Spirit was still with me, just muffled, because he would not let me dive head on into sin and the world. I eventually forgot about that hymn I had loved and many Christian songs. But over the years God was drawing me closer and closer back to him until finally early this summer I fully surrendered myself to Christ again and repented for purposefully straying.
I am a mail carrier and around that time this summer I was listening to Christian radio in my vehicle while delivering and this song came on. When the “I Surrender All” sample hit, I broke down with joy at hearing this song again, hearing the powerful melody mingled with the lyrics that spoke so much truth and mirrored the words I said when I was first saved. It felt like the love and truth of Christ just hit me so hard. Thank you God, thank you Jesus for finding your wandering sheep and bringing him back. Jesus was right when he said nothing can snatch us out of his hands!
