She was born in the neighborhood of Greenpoint in Brooklyn, New York City, New York on January 10, 1953 as Patricia Andrzejewski. She graduated from Lindenhurst High on Long Island in 1971. She married her lead guitarist, Neil "Spyder" Geraldo, in 1982, and she has two children, named Haley and Hana.
In 1973, Benatar quit her job as a bank teller to pursue a singing career after being inspired by a Liza Minnelli concert she saw in Richmond. She got a job as a singing waitress at a flapper-esque nightclub named "The Roaring Twenties", and got a gig singing in lounge band Coxon's Army. They garnered enough attention to be the subject of a never-aired PBS special, and the band's bassist, Roger Capps, would go on to be the original bass player for the Pat Benatar band.
This period also yielded Benatar's first solo single – 1974's "Day Gig" – until her eventual major label debut on Chrysalis Records in 1979. The song was released via Trace Records, and was both written and produced by Coxon's Army band leader Phil Coxon.
Benatar's big break came in 1975 at an amateur night at the comedy club "Catch a Rising Star" in New York City. Her rousing rendition of Judy Garland's "Rock-a-Bye Your Baby with a Dixie Melody" earned her a call back by club owner Rick Newman, who would later become her manager.
After many years of producing big budget albums, Neil and Pat have continued to produce albums together, even though they have decided to end their association with major labels. They have chosen instead to place the care of their children above industry demands, and make records at home in their own professional quality studio. Each summer when their girls get out of school for vacation, they all pack up, board a tour bus, and set out to play as many shows as they can fit into the summer months. Pat and Neil maintain a close, and much more personal, relationship with their fans, than they were able to do in 80's during the heights of their commercial success.

Little Too Late
Pat Benatar Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You tell me that was the reason
For whatcha' put me through, yeah
And now you come collapsin' back
I feel the heat of your attack
Want me to take you back
I'm givin' you the sack
So don't waste your time
It's a little too little
It's a little too late
I'm a little too hurt
And there's nothin' left that I've gotta say
You can cry to me baby
But there's only so much I can take
Ah, it's a little too little
It's a little too late
You say you had a good time
But did ya' think it was for free, yeah
And how much did it get ya', all their flattery
And now you come back, runnin' for protection
You've been bitten by love and stung by rejection
You can't connect
What did you expect?
I'm still gettin' over you
It's a little too little
It's a little too late
I'm a little too hurt
And there's nothin' left that I've gotta say
You can cry to me baby
But there's only so much I can take
Ah, it's a little too little
It's a little too late
It's a little too little
It's a little too late
I'm a little too hurt
And there's nothin' left that I've gotta say
Well, you can cry to me baby
But there's only so much, only so much I can take
Ah, it's a little too little
It's a little too late
It's a little too little
It's a little too late
I'm a little too hurt
And there's nothin' left that I've gotta say
Well, you can cry to me baby
'Cause there's only so much, only so much I can take
Ah, it's a little too little
It's a little too little
It's a little too little
It's a little too late
The song "Little Too Late" by Pat Benatar is about a relationship that has ended due to the man's infidelity, which has left the woman feeling betrayed and hurt. The man tries to come back to her, but she is no longer interested, and he is met with rejection. The opening lines of the song refer to an excuse the man gave for his infidelity - he had a good offer on Third Avenue. This shows that he prioritized his own self-interest over his commitment to the relationship, which is one of the main themes of the song.
The chorus repeats the phrase "It's a little too little, it's a little too late,", which represents the woman's feelings towards the man's late attempt to make things right. She has already been hurt too much, and his efforts to come back are not enough to fix what has been broken. The lines "I'm a little too hurt, and there's nothing left that I've gotta say" emphasize the woman's exhaustion with the situation and her unwillingness to invest any more of herself into the relationship.
The second verse is a direct response to the man's attempts to come back to the woman, where she questions his motives and calls out his inability to understand her feelings. The line "You've been bitten by love and stung by rejection" shows that the woman is aware of his previous attempts to find love elsewhere and the subsequent rejections he has faced. This further emphasizes the idea that the man was not committed to the relationship, and his behavior has caused irreparable damage.
Overall, "Little Too Late" is a song about the aftermath of infidelity and the impact it can have on a relationship. The woman in the song has been hurt and betrayed, and the man's attempts to make things right come too late. The chorus emphasizes the woman's unwillingness to forgive, and the verses highlight the man's inability to understand the depth of the damage he has caused.

Who could imagine the 80's without her? Her voice, and style, will forever define the best decade of my life. The Queen of Rock and Roll was hot as hell; I'd give anything to go back in time; Her songs take me there....

She was a huge influence in my life. She taught me, through her performances and music, that a woman can be sexy and tough as nails at the same time. Take no sh*t from no one was her message to me.
