An edited version of the track was released as a single to radio. It was also used in a Christmas commercial by the Florida-based supermarket chain Publix, featuring relatives traveling to Florida by train for Christmas. Metheny jokingly refers to the piece as "The Publix Song" when performing in Florida, as the commercial aired every holiday season from 1987 to 1996. The NPR radio show Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli uses the tune as its closing theme.
In 2015, the song served as the end theme of the anime adaptation JoJo's Bizarre Adventure during the second half of the show's Stardust Crusaders arc, and it later became the focus of Essential Collection Last Train Home, a JoJo-themed compilation album for the Pat Metheny Group. The composition has also been featured during The Weather Channel's Local on the 8s playlist since the late 1980s. The retail bedding manufacturer Sleep Train, which operates primarily in California, used the track for their television commercials.

julio radrigan Thank you my friend. I remember a Lodge a family had that only referred Customers were allowed to visit for fine dinners. It was family run and in West Central Alabama, After dinner I went out on the back porch enjoying a full moon over their farmland and having a smoke after stuffing myself on an incredible home cooked Dinner. It was 1975 or so and I heard a distant Steam engine whistle traveling north to south and a unique technique. We had a long way home that evening an my girlfriend an I were in the back seat of here parents car, and they were driving. Later I heard that song for the first time and adopted it as my own.
There had been 6 Engineers in my mothers family and a Great Grandfather that was a Confederate Steam engineer was their grandfather during the Civil war in USA. The young men of the family all became Train Engineers starting back in the Turn of the Century and untill the local industry closed after a Century of production.
So suddenly so many thing lined up for me when I heard that song. I remember my Uncles telling me how a Steam engine was from an era when such things were alive and deserved respect as such. And how they bonded with their Engines they shared the journey's with. So this song touched my soul when I heard it the first time.
It will always be in my heart and soul.
Again, I thank you for your lovely post, I had almost lost faith in Youtube with all the childish people here using it as a way to argue and get attention, And now I can remember the better places here again.
May I offer another Artist I enjoy as well? Try some Suzanne Cianni her earlier work, And the work without the word Waves in the titles are more pleasant to me. Try Neverland or the Velocity of love as a start and see if you enjoy.
And greeting from Atlanta Georgia!
