Patrice Roberts's song "Big Girl Now" is an anthem for women who have come of age and have embraced their sexuality. The song begins with the line "I give meh all no turning back," which conveys the message that the singer is ready to embrace her sexuality and live life to the fullest. The chorus "I am a big woman not a little girl I now sixteen again so doh expect me too be the same cuz I issa a big girl now" emphasizes that she is an adult, free to make her own choices, and not bound by the expectations of others.
The lyrics continue with the singer talking about her body and how she wants to "wine up" and "grind up" on the dance floor. She talks about how her "fat bumper" is walking from night till morning, and she doesn't care what others think of her. The song also touches on the theme of transformation, and how she feels like she's missed out on a big part of her life because people used to leave her behind when they went out. From the lyrics, it's clear that the singer is in control of her life, and she's not afraid to flaunt her sexuality or make bold statements.
