Quand Jimmy dit "what'd I say"
"I love you baby"
C'est comme qui dirait
Toute la province qui chante en anglais
Quand Jimmy dit "what'd I say"
"Oh baby come on"
Quand Jimmy dit "what'd I say"
"I love you baby"
C'est comme qui dirait
Toute la province qui chante en anglais
Quand Jimmy dit "what'd I say"
"Oh baby come on"
Quand Jimmy dit "what'd I say"
"I love you baby"
C'est comme qui dirait
Toute la province qui chante en anglais
Quand Jimmy dit "what'd I say"
"Oh baby come on"
C'est comme qui dirait
Toute la province qui marche en Weston
Quand Jimmy dit "what'd I say"
"I love you baby"
C'est comme qui dirait

Quand Jimmy dit "what'd I say"
"Oh baby come on"
The song tells the story of a young musician named Jimmy, who formed a band two years ago with his friends. They play a blend of jazz, blues, and new wave African music. Despite facing financial struggles and sacrificing his possessions for the sake of his music, Jimmy remains dedicated and relentless in his pursuit of success. The singer of the song admires Jimmy's passion and accompanies him on his journey, supporting him through thick and thin, and describing him as a star in the making. The chorus portrays the essence of Jimmy's music, as when he sings "What'd I say," the whole province sings along in English, and every time he says "Oh baby come on," everyone marches to the rhythm in their Weston shoes.
The lyrics offer a portrayal of the arduous journey that a musician often takes to establish themselves in the industry. The song brings to light the sacrifices made to pursue a passion, the difficulties in building a career from scratch, and the immense amount of dedication and hard work required to be successful. The reference to Weston shoes highlights the unique fashion statement that musicians create, being the symbol of freedom and rock and roll.
