Goble first developed an interest in the drums when he was six years old, after his father, an amateur drummer, introduced them to him. At the age of eleven, Goble began teaching himself twelve-string guitar and shortly thereafter obtained an Epiphone electric. By the time Goble was twelve, he had stop attending public school and had decided to dedicate his time to learning music, which he taught himself for the next seven years. During this time, he studied guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, ukulele, violin, and didgeridoo. He began recording music in the late 1990s, and he released his first album, Home Recordings, in 2004.
At the age of nineteen, Goble was awarded a scholarship to study at the Musicians Institute. He has been teaching guitar professionally since 2006, and he served as a visiting lecturer at Huaihua University in 2012.
In early 2013, right on the heels of his then-newest release Behemoth, Goble completed one of his most ambitious undertakings ever: a five-volume anthology of electronic pop music, all recorded, produced, and mastered within the span of a mere five days.

MARS
Patrick Goble Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Then you left me there
In the darkness of Mars, I stand still
You said set me free under burning eyes
Then I left you there
In the fire of your lies, I stand still
The opening lines of Patrick Goble's song "Mars" are ripe with symbolism and ambiguity. At first, it seems that the singer is quoting someone, perhaps their lover or a close friend, who requests to be released under a sky full of falling stars. And yet, by the end of the stanza, it is revealed that the singer has been left alone in the darkness of Mars. The metaphorical implications of this sudden shift are myriad--perhaps the singer has been abandoned emotionally or physically, left to fend for themselves in a barren and unforgiving environment. The use of the word "Mars" is particularly resonant, as it not only implies a sense of isolation and unfamiliarity, but also calls to mind the very real possibility of extraterrestrial life and exploration.
As the song progresses, we hear the singer reciprocating the sentiment of being "set free under burning eyes," only to once again be left alone in the "fire of [their] lies." The final line, "In the darkness of Mars, I stand still," encapsulates the central theme of the song--the idea of being stranded in a desolate, almost otherworldly terrain, unable to move forward or find a way home.
