In 1974 and 1975, she recorded for Avco Records, and, in 1981, recorded for Plantation Records, her most recent record label. Page's most recent single to appear on any Billboard chart was the 1982 #80 country single, "My Man Friday". (She last appeared on the pop chart in 1968, with her version of O.C. Smith's hit, "Little Green Apples", and on the Adult Contemporary chart with "Give Him Love" in 1971.)
Page made the country chart in up to 1983, with her biggest hit during that time being "Hello, We're Lonely," a 1973 #14 duet with Tom T. Hall.
In the 1990s, Page started her own label, C.A.F. Records. In 1998, she won a Grammy as "Best Traditional Pop Singer". Page continued to record into the new millenium with the CDs BRAND NEW TENNESSEE WALTZ, SWEET SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS (2002), CHILD OF MINE (2003) and her last 2009 release BEST OF COUNTRY. Many of her songs have a strong beat to them that prelude rock 'n' roll. These titles include "Mister and Mississippi", "Detour" and "Cross Over the Bridge". In 1956, she married choreographer Charles O'Curran. They adopted two children, a daughter, Kathleen, and a son, Daniel O'Curran.
My Jealous Eyes
Patti Page Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Why are you turning from blue to green?
My lover's arms hold other charms
But they're just dancing.
My jealous eyes you mustn't grieve,
Just tell my heart that it must believe.
He holds her tight but that's alright.
What are they saying while they are swaying?
Oh, can it be he's tired of me?
My jealous eyes, the dance is through
Now you can turn back from green to blue
It's fine again
He's mine again
And he still loves me
My jealous eyes
You must you mustn't grieve
Just tell my heart that it must believe
He holds her tight
But that's alright
They're only dancing
What're they saying while they're swaying?
Oh can it be he's tired of me?
My jealous eye, the dance is through
Now you can turn back from green to blue
It's fine again
He's mine again
And he still loves me
And he still loves me
In this song, Patti Page sings about her jealousy towards her lover who is dancing with another woman. She questions her own eyes, wondering what they have seen that has caused them to turn from blue to green. She acknowledges that her lover's arms may hold other charms, but convinces herself that it's only dancing. She tells her eyes not to grieve but to tell her heart to believe that it's only a dance and he still loves her. She questions what the couple is saying to each other while they're dancing and worries that he may be tired of her. However, when the dance is over, her eyes can turn back to blue and she can take comfort in the fact that he is still hers and still loves her.
The song portrays a common feeling of jealousy and insecurity in a relationship. It sheds light on the internal turmoil that one may feel while watching their lover dance or interact with someone else. The lyrics also demonstrate the power of self-talk and the importance of positive self-assurance. Ultimately, the song ends on a positive note as the singer reconciles with her jealousy and reassures herself that everything is alright.

Just a great song... Really brings back fond memories - I have it on and old 78 as well, but it's pretty wiped out from playing with worn out osmium needles.
