In 1974 and 1975, she recorded for Avco Records, and, in 1981, recorded for Plantation Records, her most recent record label. Page's most recent single to appear on any Billboard chart was the 1982 #80 country single, "My Man Friday". (She last appeared on the pop chart in 1968, with her version of O.C. Smith's hit, "Little Green Apples", and on the Adult Contemporary chart with "Give Him Love" in 1971.)
Page made the country chart in up to 1983, with her biggest hit during that time being "Hello, We're Lonely," a 1973 #14 duet with Tom T. Hall.
In the 1990s, Page started her own label, C.A.F. Records. In 1998, she won a Grammy as "Best Traditional Pop Singer". Page continued to record into the new millenium with the CDs BRAND NEW TENNESSEE WALTZ, SWEET SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS (2002), CHILD OF MINE (2003) and her last 2009 release BEST OF COUNTRY. Many of her songs have a strong beat to them that prelude rock 'n' roll. These titles include "Mister and Mississippi", "Detour" and "Cross Over the Bridge". In 1956, she married choreographer Charles O'Curran. They adopted two children, a daughter, Kathleen, and a son, Daniel O'Curran.

One little thought to me
Though someone else may be
Nearer your heart?
Once in a while will you dream
Of the moments I shared with you
Moments before we two
In love's smoldering ember
One spark may remain
If love still can remember
That spark may burn again
I know that I'll be contented
With yesterday's memory
Knowing you think of me
Once in a while
In love's smoldering ember
One spark may remain
If love still can remember
The spark may burn again
I know that I'll be contented
With yesterday's memory
Knowing you think of me
Once in a while
The song "Once in a While" by Patti Page is a wistful ballad about a lost love. The song's lyrics are full of emotion and are sung from the perspective of someone who is hoping that their former love will remember them fondly. The lyrics ask if the former love will take a moment to think of them, even if they are with someone else. The chorus repeats the sentiment that once in a while, the former love should remember the good times they had together.
The lyrics suggest a sense of resignation and acceptance of the situation. The singer knows that they will never be with their former love again but still has hope that they will be remembered. The song implies that even though the relationship is over, there is still a chance for the spark to reignite if the former lovers still harbor loving feelings for one another. The song ends on a hopeful note, with the singer contented with the memories of their past love and the knowledge that they are still remembered.
Overall, "Once in a While" is a sad but hopeful ballad that speaks to the universal human experience of love and loss. The song's emotional lyrics and Patti Page's beautiful voice make it a classic and beloved song to this day.

Once in a while will you try to give
Do you ever take the time to think of me?
One little thought to me
Just a fleeting moment or a small memory?
Though someone else may be
Even if you have someone else in your life?
Nearer your heart?
Who holds a more special place in your heart?
Once in a while will you dream
Do you ever remember the moments we had?
Of the moments I shared with you
The beautiful times we spent together?
Moments before we two
Before we had to part ways?
Drifted apart?
Lost touch and went our separate ways?
In love's smoldering ember
Love may have faded, but it's not completely gone
One spark may remain
A small glimmer of hope for a future together
If love still can remember
If the love we had can still be felt
That spark may burn again
There is a chance for new love to ignite
I know that I'll be contented
I'll find happiness in my memories of us
With yesterday's memory
When we were together and in love
Knowing you think of me
An occasional thought of me brings comfort
Once in a while
Every now and then

Cómo no recordar a Patti Page cuando cantaba "The doggie in the window" y "Old cape code",
canciones maravillosas que yo escuché en mi infancia, siendo una niña de 9 o 10 años.
Qué tristeza no sabía que ya se nos adelanto. Gracias por compartir hermosas melodías
del ayer.

Patti Page had such a great voice. I wish Mercury Records didn’t fall in love with over dubbing her voice on so many of her records. A great example of her voice with no over dubbing is Patti’s version of “ At Sundown”. Thanks.
