One Good Reason
Paul Carrack Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I stand on my ground when we fight, no matter where we are
I am the sad clown with teared eyes, so happy on your own
We get some strange looks when we shout, clowning at the bar
It seems that I've hoped, now I found a match from my own heart

[Chorus:]

Just give me one good reason baby, one good reason now
One good reason, I should, I should hang around
One good reason

I often wonder how we look in other people's eyes
Wild lovers, explosive, and right above these eyes

She stands on her own ground when we kiss, poisoning my mind
I bet I found my match, to strike it up tonight

@john leverette actually no
Brian was very humble when they brought him into the band
Bon Scott would’ve been proud
Brian has stayed loyal and strong with AC/DC for 40 years plus before retiring due to medical complications with his throat and voice
No one else could’ve done it
Brian Johnson was the right choice
And destiny showed us with consistency and multiple hits through the years
They were voted into the rock & roll hall of fame in the early 2000’s
I’d say he carried Bon Scott’s lunch box and then some 👍🏻💪🏽🏆

I never knew that Paul Carrack's voice was the common denominator in many of my favorite songs of all time. I could listen to his voice forever.

I love Carrack's song "Don't Shed a Tear" which is itself a super underrated 80s pop song. I'm just hearing this one now and it's amazing too, judging by the really low views I can see how forgotten and rare it is

@Ryan Mangin Today is my first time hearing it also. I only remember hearing Don't Shed A Tear back when it first came out.
