The plot of Stephen King's novel "MISERY" (1987) resembles suspiciously that of the 1972 film “THE STRANGE VENGEANCE OF ROSALIE”. I would say that it is practically a plagiarism.

Kathy Bates was absolutely brilliant in this movie. She basically was the movie--her antics were hysterically funny even though she was about the most scary and evil villain you could ever ask for.

She was good in this movie that Stephen King wrote Dolores Claiborne specifically for her.
