It goes with your hair
You certainly know the right things to wear
Moonlight becomes you
I'm thrilled by the sight
We'll probably get romantic tonight
All dressed up to go dreamin'
Don't try to tell me I'm wrong
What a night to go dreamin'
Mind if I tag along
(Repeat Chorus)
If I say that I love you
I swear that it's so
It isn't because there's moonlight
Although,moonlight becomes you so
Moonlight beoornes you
Moonlight becomes you
Moonlight becomes you
The song Moonlight Becomes You by Paul Williams is a romantic ballad that praises the beauty of the person he is singing to. The first verse speaks about how moonlight suits the subject's hair color and how she has great taste in fashion, showcasing her beauty under the moonlit sky. The second line speaks directly to the subject's allure, the sight of her under moonlight thrilling the singer, and hinting at romance between them.
The chorus is about being dressed up and ready to dream, with the singer asking permission to join in. The lines express fondness and desire for company to share the enchanted night with, all while praising the subject's inherent elegance and how it is accentuated by moonlight. The third verse is a declaration of love, and the singer attests their feelings are genuine, even though the beauty of the moonlight and how it affects the subject is a bonus.
