This song reminds me of my husband and I. We were 10 when we met, his family lived next door to my aunt, we were all pretty close, when we were 12 he proposed, I said yes but we kept it a secret, I wasn’t allowed to date or have a boyfriend, my parents were super strict. We graduated in 1976 and got married, after 4 kids, 10 grandkids and 6 great grandkids we’re still married. I don’t know why, but it seems marriages before 1980 last along time, 46 years for us

The world ended on this genre of music the next year, 1964, when the Beatles and the British Invasion took over and America got seriously into the Vietnamese war which was a national nightmare. Some groups made it through, like the 4 seasons and the Beach Boys but they had to adapt too. When I watch this , I see a different time and place in America. A time of innocence never to reappear. Times were never uncomplicated, that is nostalgia. People could not have sex before marriage in most places. Thus you married and it was often a disaster but divorce was even harder to get in those days, the shame was terrible and often women could not work due to children being born. In years to come your grandkids will be saying the same thing about their teenage years, ‘good times’. I’d rather be alive and young now.

Well, I waited 60 years but I have now seen them for the first time!
I was fortunate to grow up in the 50's and early years in the 60's and now when I look back I realize they were the greatest years in my life. 'In The Still Of The Night', 'Earth Angel', and on and on.
Someone some of you folks might want to listen to sing is a young lady 'Angelina Jordan' and she has about 200+ songs on You Tube and most of them are classics from our day. She pays homage to the original song and artist but at the same time adds her twist to the song. Friends, she is not 'good'. She is literally out-of-this-world and she will touch your heart when she sings 'for you'. Here are some examples; 'What A Difference A Day Makes' (Dinah Washington); 'Crazy' (Patsy Cline); 'Are You Lonesome Tonight' (Elvis Presley); 'Mister Lonely' (Bobby Vinton); and so many more. I will not tell you her age and why she sings barefoot. Once her love is in your heart you will begin to find out everything about her.
God Bless all of you who have made it this far. We live in a troubled world right now and the only chance humanity has to survive is by beginning to love one another. Aster listening to Angelina sing her first song 'for you' , you will understand what I mean. She will inspire you to be kinder, more caring and loving than you have ever been in your life.

I don’t remember this song! My second daughter was born and I didn’t have access to a radio while living in Panama for two years! How music has changed! There was music from all the years that I enjoyed!

I remember when I got a transistor radio in a while leather case, with earphones for Christmas in the early 60’s. I would listened to great songs like this & dream of falling in love, getting married, etc.
