DeAnda was born in San Angelo, Texas, to Mexican American parents Steven and Barbara, a restaurant general manager and a registered nurse, respectively. At age six she began taking piano lessons and was soon singing at functions around town at the recommendation of her piano teacher.[5] She also sang the national anthem at local football games. In 2002, DeAnda's family decided to move to Corpus Christi in order to help advance her career in music since Corpus Christi had a reputation as a music hub.[6] She attended Mary Carroll High School.
DeAnda was the opening act for a concert which featured hip-hop artists, Nelly, Baby Bash and Frankie J. performing in front of twenty thousand people.[1][6] Her first single, "What Would It Take" was serviced to local radio stations in July, received airplay from ten radio stations across the country. Her next single "Doing Too Much" was released in December. It was then that she got the opportunity to audition for Clive Davis who signed her for a seven-album deal with Arista Records on the spot.
"Doing Too Much" served as the lead single to her self-titled debut album which was released in the summer of 2006, and charted in the Top50 of the Billboard Hot 100. It was later was certified gold in the US in 2007. Paula DeAnda charted at #54 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album mainly consists of songs about love and relationships and is of the pop-R&B genre. DeAnda co-wrote four songs on the album, which features production from Happy Perez among others. She was only 16 years old at the time of the album's released. Her second single "Walk Away (Remember Me)" (written by Christina Milian and Ne-Yo) was her biggest hit, reaching the top twenty on the Hot 100. The single was certified gold by the RIAA, becoming her second single to do so. Follow-up singles from her debut included "When It Was Me" and "Easy" which the latter featured rapper Lil Wayne. She later appeared in the MTV television film Super Sweet 16: The Movie.
In 2008, DeAnda began production on next effort, initially due in 2009. A buzz single "Stunned Out" was released and garnered some airplay, but the set's lead single ended up being the ballad "Roll the Credits", which was released with a music video was planned. Clive Davis left Arista's parent company at the time, RCA Label Group in 2008 to become the chief creative officer for Sony BMG. DeAnda also parted ways Arista following his departure.

I know that you wanna talk about it but I gotta put it in your mind
I feel like we've been through this story a thousand times
I feel like we've been going around and around in circles
Ooh why, we gotta put this behind us, yeah, yeah
Baby, listen to me
'Cause if you ever need me
I'd be lost, I'd be going crazy
'Cause I don't want nobody else
I just wanna be with you
You're the only one who completes me baby
You're the one who makes me whole
Why is it that every time I looked in your eyes
I see something wrong, insecurity
When all along I was trying make it right
Keep us going strong, and loving you faithfully
Baby, listen to me
Please don't walk out that door
'Cause if you ever need me
I'd be lost, I'd be going crazy
'Cause I don't want nobody else
I just wanna be with you
You're the only one who completes me baby
You're the one who makes me whole, ooh, baby
'Cause I don't want nobody else
I just wanna be with you
You're the only one who completes me baby
You're the one who makes me whole
Girl you're messing with a player
And a player will probably play ya
But a player thinks he's sticking with you
Not a streets-create, so much distrust
That I'd probably be ready to break it to you
Now I ain't trippin'
We can kick it in the morning we can make it in the evening
Stroll through the park with the Cali smoke grievin'
Believe it, I wouldn't even leave you for nothin'
That's why I'm man enough to say my feelings I ain't finding
Let's go on the road to the end of the sunshine
I'ma forget about your past, hoping you forgot mine
I'd be focus on my grind, you'd be trying to hold me down
I told you I'd be your boy come on, baby girl, let's ride
'Cause I don't want nobody else
I just wanna be with you
You're the only one who completes me baby
You're the one who makes me whole
'Cause I don't want nobody else
I just wanna be with you
You're the only one who completes me baby
You're the one who makes me whole
'Cause I don't want nobody else
I just wanna be with you
You're the only one who completes me baby
You're the one who makes me whole
In Paula DeAnda's song "Wanna Be With You," the lyrics express the desire to work through relationship struggles and stay together. The first verse states that even though the couple has been through the same issues countless times, it's time to move on and put them behind them. The chorus focuses on the singer's plea to her partner to stay, because she doesn't want to be with anyone else; instead, she wants to be with him. She emphasizes that he is the only person who makes her feel complete and that she would be lost without him.
The second verse addresses the singer's insecurities and fears that her partner may not see how deeply she loves him. It's obvious that he has been hurt in the past, which has caused him to build walls around himself, making it difficult for the singer to connect with him. However, she assures him that she is faithful and committed to him, and no one else compares to the way he completes her.
In the rap verse, the male rapper acknowledges his womanizing past but tells the singer that she is different because he sees himself sticking around. He admits that he has trust issues from his past and that he might be the one to mess things up this time around. However, he encourages her to forget about their past mistakes, focus on their future, and ride together through the ups and downs.
Overall, the song is a plea for commitment, forgiveness, and understanding. The lyrics encapsulate the struggle that couples face when trying to make their relationship work despite mounting challenges.
