Above the Clouds
Paulmac Lyrics

When I'm left bare and cold
When there's nothing at all
I lift through the clouds I go on a wave of sound
I go on my own when the feeling calls
Chorus
I'm floating above the ground so get used to it
It's sunny above the clouds
You can't touch me here
It's the sweeet of the darkness
coming into my ears
something shifts in my soul
something warms the cold
lift me up, let me go, just get me out of here
A hand from above give me something to hold
Chorus
I'm floating above the ground so get used to it
Cos I'm not coming down
It's sunny above the clouds
You can't touch me here
The lyrics to Paulmac's song Above The Clouds depict his journey towards a place of solace - a peaceful escape from the turmoil and chaos that he feels in his life. The place he refers to is not literal, but rather a state of mind, where he can lift himself up above the mundane realities of his life and feel a sense of freedom. The use of figurative language, like 'lift through the clouds' and 'on a wave of sound,' emphasizes this journey of escape he is taking. This escape seems to be a personal solace for him because he goes there alone when he feels the need to. The chorus emphasizes the feeling of weightlessness and freedom he experiences once he is in this place. He has no intention of coming back down; he is happy to stay above the clouds.
The second verse highlights the dreamy and introspective state of mind Paulmac has achieved through his journey to this place. The warmth and sweetness he feels in his soul imply a sense of relief and peace. The line 'give me something to hold' reiterates the need for a sense of security, particularly when he feels vulnerable. The overall meaning of the song is that everyone needs an escape from the stresses and pressures of life, a place where they can find peace and freedom.
