The new project was influenced by music styles such as rap and rock. Throughout those years, Pavilhão 9 was able to prove to critics and to the large audience that they are truly the symbol for the hip hop culture in Brazil. The band has a new formation has new members Rhossi and Doze (Vocals), Ortega (Guitar), Marinho (Bass), Munari (Guitar) and Fernandão (Drums) and in this new project counts with special guests like Billy (Biohazard), Guga Stroeter, DJ Nuts, Rodolfo Abrantes (former-leader of the Rodox group) and Salazar (of the pair Veiga & Salazar) and was produced by Carlo Bartolini. Even though the Band has reached a larger audience and won various awards (they have sold more than 240.000 albums), Pavilhão 9 continues to protest about corruption, poverty and social injustice.
In "Publico Alvo", the Band is angrier than ever and has many political songs such as: Tô na Minha, Expressão, Cidade, O Anjo e o Diabo, Chaosfobia, Todos Querem o Controle, Cientistas, Os Normais São Loucos, Raça, Polícia e Ladrão and Reacionarios. Publico Alvo also gives the message of a world with no boundaries. The idea of a global mind mentality is stronger is songs such as Nova Desordem and has as special guest, Billy from Biohazard. There is also a new version of Gimme tha Power from the Mexican band Molotov. Pavilhão 9 was the first band to introduce the gangsta rap in Brazil. They have always been very concern about political and social injustice. Early in their career, the band used to perform with their faces covered with hoods. The reason for the weird habit was that the band used to be threatened by the police.
Since 1990, Pavilhão 9 has always used to road as a powerful tool to promote their music. After years of hard work, they had finally conquered the critics respect and a huge fan base. In every new project, the band was won a new award and has sold more albums. That was the case with the albums 1o Ato (1992 - Sharp Award Winner), Procurados Vivos ou Morte (1996 - Best Rap Video in MTV Awards Brazil Cadeia Nacional (1997 - Best Rap Video in MTV Awards Brazil), Se Deus Vier Que Venha Armado (1998 - Best Rap Video in MTV Arwads Brazil) and in 2002, the Band won the Grammy bronze medal with the music "Trilha do Futuro". The Latin Grammy is the biggest Latin award of the phonographic industry worldwide. The album Reação also was indicated to the Video Music Brazil MTV 2001, in the pop rock category. With the album, the band has performed for 200.000 people in the music festival Rock in Rio. That show entered for the history of Brazilian music for having the first group of Rap presenting for an audience of 200.000 people. The band also took the opportunity to take the hood of, "the mask was a symbol for the people who are oppressed and that suffer with social injustice ", says the lead singer Rhossi.
