My family was a Caucasian family. I grew up in Brooklyn My father died in 1956. I loved him very much. I still remember that one of the few records we had & that he would put on the record player was Pearl Bailey singing Two to Tango. I remember how much joy it gave him & how it helped him relax. it actually is one of my best childhood memories which is what brought me here. Sorry if my name icon comes up 2x. Some sort of computer glitch we don't know how to fix.

"Takes Two to Tango" was Pearl's big hit on the Billboard Pop charts. Her record reached #7 in 1952. Written by Al Hoffman & Dick Manning. As another commenter mentioned, Bill Bailey is her brother.

If I were ever married “the tango” would be a fun adventure...” 🤣🤣🤣

Who did not like and respect Pearlie May? Every time she stood on a stage she exuded a sassy ebulliance, a joie de vivre that was contagious. It was impossible not to embrace her. .
